Adrenergic stimulation induces contractions in the corpus cavernosum smooth muscle (CCSM) that are important in maintaining penile flaccidity. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of K7 channels in regulating contractions and their underlying Ca signals in mouse CCSM. Quantitative PCR revealed transcriptional expression of KCNQ1 and KCNQ3-5 genes in whole CCSM, with KCNQ5 as the most highly transcribed K7 encoding gene.

A 14-year-old boy developed hydronephrosis and worsening renal function due to fibroepithelial polyps of the bladder and left ureter at the age of 12 years. The endoscopic treatment of ureteral polyps was attempted by his previous doctor; however urethral stricture and ureteral stricture developed and was untreatable. Therefore, he was referred to our hospital for further reconstructive treatment.

Melanoma is a highly aggressive malignancy originating from melanocytes, characterized by its potential to arise in various anatomic locations, both common and rare. The incidence of melanoma has been steadily increasing globally, with variations in clinical presentation, tumor behavior, and prognosis depending on the anatomical site involved. Understanding the diverse pathological spectrum of melanoma is critical for optimizing diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

Background Sexual intercourse frequency (SIF) is widely known to be associated with fertility, but little is known about what predicts SIF among infertile couples trying to conceive. In this study, we examine the demographic and lifestyle risk factors associated with less frequent coitus among infertile couples. Methods This cross-sectional study examined infertile couples actively trying to conceive, selecting them from patients seeking fertility treatment.

This study assessed the economic impact of reducing one postoperative visit following inflatable penile prosthesis (IPP) implantation. Scenario analyses were used to model the effects of eliminating one 30-min IPP postoperative visit from the expected 2.5 visits accounted for by the American Medical Association resource-based relative value scale data.
