This study explored the relationship between surrounding avatars and time perception in a virtual reality (VR) gymnasium. Previous research has highlighted that motion speed and exercise intensity significantly influence time perception. In VR, time perception is shaped by various factors, such as an avatar's embodiment at different levels.

Background: A sustainable pandemic preparedness strategy is essential to ensure equitable access to healthcare for individuals with neurodegenerative diseases. Moreover, it is vital to provide clinicians and researchers in the neurodegenerative disease fields with resources and infrastructure to ensure continuity of their work during a (health) crisis.

Humans' sense of the passage of time is subjective and determined by psychophysiological responses to the environment. The passing of time has been perceived to significantly slow in stressful situations, such as accidents or virtual threats. The current study will explore distortions in the perception of passage of time when threat is simulated using virtual reality (VR).
