Anomalous biliary anatomy is frequently encountered by surgeons during cholecystectomy. Importance of its recognition lies in avoiding serious biliary injuries. One such anomaly is cholecystohepatic duct. We describe rare clinical situation wherein agenesis of CHD along with cholecystohepatic duct was mistaken for hilar stricture.

Objective: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to determine the degree to which pancreaticobiliary maljunction (PBM) increases the risk of different types of biliary cancer (BC).
Methods: A systematic review and meta-analysis were carried out using the following databases: PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Scopus, Web of Science, and Science Direct. We systematically searched from inception to April 2024.
Preduodenal portal vein (PDPV) is a rare congenital vascular malformation, which was first described by Knight in 1921 as an anomalous vein that lies in front of the duodenum, common bile duct, and hepatic artery instead of beneath them. This abnormal position may result in congenital duodenal obstruction and puts it in danger during operations around this region. PDPV is typically associated with other congenital anomalies, mainly intraabdominal and cardiac ones.

Choledochal cysts (CCs) are cystic dilations of intrahepatic and/or extrahepatic bile ducts. Around 80% of CCs are diagnosed within the first decade of life. These complex clinical entities are extremely rare, especially in the Western population.

Introduction: The diagnosis of choledochal cysts in the adult population is complicated by the expected physiologic dilation of the common bile duct after cholecystectomy. We aimed to compare patients who underwent choledochal cyst resection based on cholecystectomy status.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted of patients who underwent choledochal cyst resection between 1/1/1998-12/31/2021.
