We propose a novel approach to investigate the brain mechanisms that support coordination of behavior between individuals. Brain states in single individuals defined by the patterns of functional connectivity between brain regions are used to create joint symbolic representations of brain states in two or more individuals to investigate symbolic dynamics that are related to interactive behaviors. We apply this approach to electroencephalographic data from pairs of subjects engaged in two different modes of finger-tapping coordination tasks (synchronization and syncopation) under different interaction conditions (uncoupled, leader-follower, and mutual) to explore the neural mechanisms of multi-person motor coordination.

Background: Brain iron dyshomeostasis has been observed in behavioral deficits relevant to neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease (AD), but it remains unclear whether it is a primary cause or an epiphenomenon of disease.
Method: We assessed the effects of brain iron dyshomeostasis on spatial cognition and cognitive flexibility using the IntelliCage system, recognition memory using novel object recognition tasks and anxiety-like behavior using the open field and elevated plus maze tests. We investigated these phenotypes in a HfexTfr2 mouse model of brain iron dyshomeostasis alone (Iron) or combined with an APP/PS1 model of Alzheimer's Aβ amyloidosis (Aβ+Iron), compared with APP/PS1 mice with Aβ amyloidosis alone (Aβ) or wildtype controls.

Smart wearable devices detection and recording of people's everyday activities is critical for health monitoring, helping persons with disabilities, and providing care for the elderly. Most of the research that is being conducted uses a machine learning-based methodology; however, these approaches frequently have issues with high computing resource consumption, burdensome training data gathering, and restricted scalability across many contexts. This research suggests a behaviour detection technology based on multi-source sensing and logical reasoning to address these problems.
