Background: The development of superior summer maize hybrids with high-yield potential and essential agronomic traits, such as resistance to lodging, is crucial for ensuring the sustainability of maize cultivation. However, the task of identifying and breeding genotypes that exhibit exceptional performance and stability across multiple environment conditions, while considering a wide range of traits, is challenging. Given the backdrop of global climate change, understanding which climate variables and soil properties most significantly impact environmental similarity is essential for selecting hybrids with improved adaptability to regions with diverse climatic and soil conditions.

Background: The Leizhou Black Goat (LZBG), a prominent breed in tropical China's meat goat industry, frequently exhibits inherent muscle atrophy and malnutrition-related traits. Particularly, muscles critical for support, such as the legs, often display severe symptoms. This study aimed to investigate the differential genes and signaling pathways influencing muscle development and atrophy across various muscle locations in LZBG from a muscular atrophy-affected family.

The mineral content, vitamin C, and chlorogenic acid were determined in 44 genotypes of Andean potatoes reintroduced in the Quebrada de Humahuaca, Jujuy, Argentina. This initiative aims to promote biodiversity and support local producers by determining the nutritional and functional properties of these genotypes. The genotypes from a collection in the Germplasm Bank of INTA Balcarce, were planted in sandy clay loam soils and harvested manually.

Developing drought-resistant alfalfa ( L.) that maintains high biomass yield is a key breeding goal to enhance productivity in water-limited areas. In this study, 424 alfalfa breeding families were analyzed to identify molecular markers associated with biomass yield under drought stress and to predict high-merit plants.
