Objective: To compare clinical and embryological characteristics in donor cycles triggered for final oocytes maturation with Pregnyl 10 000 IU i.m. versus triptorelin 0.2 mg s.c. in the same patients in two sequential stimulation cycles. The aim of the study is to decrease the risk of the development of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) at high response donors by the replacement of Pregnyl 10 000 IU i.m. vs. triptorelin 0.2 mg s.c. The administration of a single dose of gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (triptorelin 0.2 mg s.c.) induces release of LH from the pituitary gland similarly to a spontaneous LH surge.
Subject: Prospective cross-over trial.
Setting: Sanatorium Pronatal, Praha.
Subject And Method: From August 2009 to July 2010 we analysed 24 stimulation cycles in 12 egg donors treated with GnRH antagonist protocol with recombinant FSH (follitropin beta). We identified patients with more than 15 follicles during examination by transvaginal ultrasound. When at least 3 leading follicles reached 17 mm in diameter we administrated Pregnyl 10 000 IU i.m. for final oocytes maturation and triptorelin 0.2 mg s.c in the subsequent treatment cycle.
Results: The primary outcome measure was number of oocytes, proportion mature oocytes and fertilized oocytes. The secondary outcome were duration of FSH stimulation, total dose of gonadotropins and mean daily dose of gonadotropins. Data was analysed by paired t-test. We retrieved 17.2 +/- 8.6 vs. 15.8 +/- 5.3 (ns) oocytes, 12.6 +/- 7.3 vs. 13.0 +/- 5.4 (ns) metaphase II oocytes, proportion of metaphase II oocytes (%) was 73 vs. 83 (ns), number of fertilized oocytes 11.5 +/- 6.7 vs. 11.7 +/- 4.5 (ns), fertilization rate (%) 91 vs. 90 (ns) in Pregnyl's vs. triptorelin's group, resp. Duration of FSH stimulation (days) 12.2 +/- 0.8 vs. 12.4 +/- 0.7 (ns), total dose of gonadotropins (IU) 1744 +/- 277 vs. 1740 +/- 276 (ns), mean daily dose of gonadotropins (IU) 238 +/- 43 vs. 221 +/- 36 (ns), were not statistically different in both groups.
Conclusions: Number of mature oocytes and subsequent embryonic cleavage is comparable to standard hCG treatment. There are no differences in clinical and embryological characteristics in both groups. Only one patient with administration of Pregnyl 10 000 IU i.m. was treated for OHSS grade II by vaginal paracentesis. Administration of triptorelin 0.2 mg s.c. is a safe and effective approach to achieve mature oocytes in egg donation programme, where we do not take care of implantation, which has got some limitations based on several studies.

Background: This study aimed to investigate the risk factors related to the failure of initial combined local methotrexate (MTX) treatment and minimally invasive surgery for late cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP).
Methods: This retrospective case-control study was conducted between January 2016 and December 2023, involving patients with late CSP (≥ 8 weeks) who received local MTX injection combined with either hysteroscopic or laparoscopic surgery. Cesarean scar pregnancy was classified as type I, II, or III based on the direction of growth of the gestational sac and the residual myometrial thickness as assessed by ultrasound.

Background: Testicular seminoma is the most common malignant tumor of the testis. It occurs at a rate of 5 per 100 000 men, primarily between the ages of 15 to 34. While seminomas typically occur in the testis, other primary sites include the mediastinum, the retroperitoneum, or other extra-gonadal sites.

Embryo implantation in the mare occurs just over one month after fertilization, coinciding with the production of chorionic gonadotropin. The factors that regulate this late implantation in the mare, and whether they are unique to horses or shared with more invasive embryo implantation in other species, remain poorly understood. This study aimed to determine and compare the transcriptome and subpopulations of endometrial cells before and after embryo implantation in the horse.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the serum hCG level in the differential diagnosis between non-molar miscarriage and complete hydatidiform mole in<11 weeks gestation.
Methods: This was a retrospective collaborative cohort study. This study included women with gestational age<11 weeks, with ultrasound evidence of failed pregnancy and available serum hCG pre-uterine evacuation, divided into two groups: the non-molar miscarriage group and the complete hydatidiform mole group.

The aims of this study were to: 1) evaluate the impact of intravaginal progesterone (P4) inserts containing different amounts of P4 on pregnancy rates of predominantly Bos taurus beef cows exposed to fixed-time artificial insemination (FTAI) using estradiol and P4-based synchronization protocols, and 2) evaluate the impact of delayed luteolysis on the fertility of cows receiving P4 insert with less P4. Cows (n = 1744) were randomly assigned to 1 of 3 treatments: 1) 2.0 mg of estradiol benzoate together with an intravaginal P4-releasing insert containing 1.
