Background: Recurrent tonsillitis is a common indication for tonsillectomy in children and has phenotypic overlap with periodic fever, aphthous stomatitis, pharyngitis, and cervical adenitis (PFAPA) syndrome. We sought to characterize symptoms associated with PFAPA among children undergoing tonsillectomy.
Methods: Parents/guardians of children undergoing tonsillectomy at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital over a six-week period were queried regarding symptoms of recurrent fever.

Antibiotic resistance poses a significant human and economic burden. In France, which ranks among the highest consumers of antibiotics in Europe, 93% of prescriptions are issued in primary care, primarily for respiratory tract infections. It is crucial to limit both the indications and the duration of antibiotic prescriptions, with recently updated recommendations in France aimed at achieving this goal.

Introduction: Fusobacterium necrophorum is a rare but significant cause of septic arthritis, typically following oropharyngeal infections in adolescents. This anaerobic pathogen, commonly associated with Lemierre's syndrome, can lead to joint infections, posing risks for severe morbidity if diagnosis and treatment are delayed. Awareness and timely intervention are essential for preventing long-term joint damage.

Aim: This work describes the validation of an in-house extraction free real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for the detection of Group A Streptococcus (GAS) in throat swabs collected in gel amies.
Method: Throat swabs received by the laboratory were prospectively tested by routine bacterial culture and an in-house PCR assay targeting the GAS SpeB gene with a multiplexed RNaseP internal control. Samples with discrepant culture/PCR results had additional testing using the commercial Xpert Group A Strep PCR assay (Cepheid).
Objective: Aim: To improve the early diagnosis, course, prediction of the development of Acute Respiratory pathology in children, taking into account the state of antioxidant system (AOS).
Patients And Methods: Materials and Methods: The research group included school-age children (10-14 years old) with Acute Respiratory pathologe (n=111) and a control group (n=25).diseases in comparation.
