The superposition of multiple plane waves with appropriate propagation vectors generates a periodic or quasi-periodic non-diffractive optical field. We show that the Fourier spectrum of the phase modulation of this field is formed by two disjoint parts, one of which is proportional to the Fourier spectrum of the field itself. Based on this result we prove that the non-diffractive field can be generated, with remarkable high accuracy and efficiency, in a Fourier domain spatial filtering setup, using a synthetic phase hologram whose transmittance is the phase modulation of the field. In a couple of cases this result is presented analytically, and in other cases the proof is computational and experimental.

Topological phases are robust against weak perturbations, but break down when disorder becomes sufficiently strong. However, moderate disorder can also induce topologically nontrivial phases. Thouless pumping, as a (1+1)D counterpart of the integer quantum Hall effect, is one of the simplest manifestations of topology.

Mathematically inspired structure design has emerged as a powerful approach for tailoring material properties, especially in nanoscale thermal transport, with promising applications both within this field and beyond. By employing mathematical principles, based on number theory, such as periodicity and quasi-periodic organizations, researchers have developed advanced structures with unique thermal behaviours. Although periodic phononic crystals have been extensively explored, various structural design methods based on alternative mathematical sequences have gained attention in recent years.

The Labyrinthic map is a two-dimensional area-preserving map that features a robust transport barrier known as the shearless curve. In this study, we explore a dissipative version of this map, examining how dissipation affects the shearless curve and leads to the emergence of quasi-periodic or chaotic attractors, referred to as shearless attractors. We present a route to chaos of the shearless attractor known as the Curry-Yorke route.

The Hilda group is a set of asteroids whose mean motion is in a 3:2 orbital resonance with Jupiter. In this paper, we use the planar Circular Restricted Three-Body Problem (CRTBP) as a dynamical model and we show that there exists a family of stable periodic orbits that are surrounded by islands of quasi-periodic motions. We have computed the frequencies of these quasi-periodic motions and we have shown how the Hilda family fits inside these islands.
