Understanding deep-time marine biodiversity change under the combined effects of climate and connectivity changes is fundamental for predicting the impacts of modern climate change in semi-enclosed seas. We quantify the Late Miocene-Early Pliocene [11.63 to 3.

The time required for genome sequencing and assembly depends on the interaction between laboratory work, sequencing capacity, and the bioinformatics workflow, often constrained by external sequencing services. Bringing together academic biodiversity institutes and a medical diagnostics company with extensive sequencing capabilities, we aimed at generating a high-quality mammalian genome in minimal time. We present the first chromosome-level genome assembly of the Whippet, using PacBio long-read high-fidelity sequencing and reference-guided scaffolding.

Traditional methods may be inefficient when processing large-scale data in the field of text mining, often struggling to identify and cluster relevant information accurately and efficiently. Additionally, capturing nuanced sentiment and emotional context within news text is challenging with conventional techniques. To address these issues, this article introduces an improved bidirectional-Kmeans-long short-term memory network-convolutional neural network (BiK-LSTM-CNN) model that incorporates emotional semantic analysis for high-dimensional news text visual extraction and media hotspot mining.

Prior research has demonstrated that programmed cell death (PCD) and mitochondria assume pivotal roles in controlling cellular metabolism and maintaining bone cell equilibrium. Nonetheless, the comprehensive elucidation of their mode of operation in osteoporosis (OP) warrants further investigation. Therefore, this study aimed at analyzing the role of genes associated with PCD (PCD-RGs) and mitochondria (mortality factor-related genes; MRGs) in OP.

Multi-file dynamic compression method based on classification algorithm in DNA storage.

Med Biol Eng Comput

December 2024

State Key Laboratory of Digital Medical Engineering, School of Biological Science and Medical Engineering, Southeast University, 210096, Nanjing, China.

Article Synopsis
  • The rapid increase in data volume has led to the potential of DNA storage as a cost-effective solution, though high synthesis and sequencing costs pose challenges.
  • The study introduces a machine learning-based multi-file dynamic compression method to optimize compression ratios for different files, thereby lowering storage costs.
  • Results show that the k-nearest neighbor algorithm achieves over 85% accuracy and a compression rate of 30.85%, outpacing traditional methods and significantly reducing DNA storage costs, which may range from $0.48 to $3 billion per terabyte.
