Objective: Using high resolution melting (HRM) to analysis MDR1 C3435T in people exposed to benzene.
Methods: Restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) was utilized to detect the polymorphism of MDR1 3435 in 121 benzene-exposed workers, and the results were compared with the HRM in 10% samples and were confirmed with direct sequencing for six people in them.
Results: By direct sequencing, consistent results of benzene-exposed workers with RFLP or HRM were got. The new high resolution melting curve analysis is more efficient, more convenient, and cheaper than RFLP.
Conclusion: High-resolution melting analysis provides a valid approach to efficiently detect DNA genetic diagnosis, which is suitable for detect susceptible genes in occupational surveillance.

Over the last few decades, climate change in Svalbard (European Arctic) has led to the emergence and growth of periglacial coastal lagoons in the place of retreating glaciers. In these emerging water bodies, new ecosystems are formed, consisting of elements presumably entering the lagoon from the melting glacier, the surrounding tundra water bodies and the coastal ocean. The data presented here were collected from an emerging lagoon in the western region of Spitsbergen, Svalbard, situated between the retreating Eidembreen Glacier and Eidembukta Bay in 2022-2023.

Non-canonical DNA structures formed by aberrantly expanded repeat DNA are implicated in promoting repeat instability and the onset of repeat expansion diseases. Small molecules that target these disease-causing repeat DNAs hold promise as therapeutic agents for such diseases. Specifically, 1,3-di(quinolin-2-yl)guanidine (DQG) has been identified to bind to the disease-causing GGCCCC (G2C4) repeat DNA associated with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and frontotemporal dementia (ALS/FTD).

Objectives: To compare the adaptation of maxillary removable partial denture (RPD) frameworks fabricated through direct digital workflows with that of traditional cast frameworks and indirect digital frameworks.
Methods: The workflow for fabricating the digital cobalt-chromium framework encompassed intraoral scanning (IOS) using Trios 3, computer-aided survey and design, and subsequently either the lost-wax technique from a printed resin framework pattern (Framework B) or direct selective laser melting (SLM) (Framework C). The electrical conductivity and antibacterial properties are crucial characteristics for bacterial cellulose (BC) based membranes to be broadly applied in the field of wearable electronics. In the study, to achieve these aims, alpha-lipoic acid (LA) was utilized as anchoring groups and reducing agent, hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HP-β-CD) capped magnetic particles (FeO NPs) and the in-situ formed silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were sequentially incorporated into the BC matrix to fabricate BC based nanocomposite membranes (HP-β-CD/FeO/LA@BC and HP-β-CD/FeO/LA/Ag@BC). Fourier transform attenuated total reflectance infrared spectroscopy (FTIR-ATR) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) analysis proved the dense networks were formed in the modified BC membranes.
