Background: Primary embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) arising from the uterine cervix is a rare and extremely malignant entity. Young women aged 12-26 years are mostly affected. Before the introduction of effective adjuvant chemotherapy, the prognosis of these lesions was poor.
Case: A 16-year-old girl presented with vaginal bleeding. The histological examination revealed embryonal RMS of the uterine cervix. The patient was treated with a combination of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The patient was alive and free of disease five years after the operation.
Conclusion: A combined modality approach to treating RMS using surgery, multidrug chemotherapy, and radiotherapy has significantly improved survival. The medical community should keep in mind that embryonal RMS of the uterine cervix, despite its malignancy and rarity, can be cured if timely and adequate treatment is given.

The aim was to study the effect of long-acting analogue of oxytocin (Carbetocin) on cervical collagenolysis of MAP-eCG synchronized ewes. At the expected time of artificial insemination, five ewes were slaughtered (n = 5) and their cervical explants (100-200 mg) were incubated during 12 h with MEM supplemented with 0, 8, 16, 32 and 64 ng/mL of Cb. Activities of activated and latent forms of matrix metalloproteinases-2 and - 9 (MMP-2 and MMP-9, respectively) in the supernatant were determined by a SDS-PAGE zymography and prostaglandin E2 concentration by immunoassay.

Background: Oncogene-Induced Senescence (OIS) is a form of senescence that occurs as a consequence of oncogenic overstimulation and possibly infection by oncogenic viruses. Whether senescence plays a role in the pathogenesis of cervical cancer (CC) is not well understood. Moreover, whether cervical epithelial cells that are part of the premalignant cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), exhibit markers of OIS in Human Papillomavirus (HPV)-infected tissue, has not been investigated.

Background: Persistent infection with high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) is a significant risk factor for cervical cancer. HPV typing and cytology are conducted in women of appropriate age to assess the risk of cervical lesions and to guide the need for further diagnostic procedures such as colposcopy, cervical biopsy, or treatment. This article explores methods to predict the risks of high-grade precancerous cervical lesions based on high-risk HPV typing.

It was a prospective study carried out in China from June 2021 to March 2022. The vaginal and urine samples were collected and analyzed by using a newly developed specific hrHPV PCR test, and matched cervical samples were analyzed by using an approved hrHPV DNA test.
