Objective: To introduce a self-developed bone collector designed by the authors and evaluate its effect in clinical application.

Methods: A self-developed bone collector was used in 38 patients who underwent the dental implant operation from May 2008 to October 2009. During the operation the bone particles were harvested, which was used for the reconstruction of the bone defects around the implant simultaneously. The defects were fenestrate in 29 regions and triangle in 23 regions on buccal or lingual side of the dental implants.

Results: All cases had no surgical wound infection and dehiscence 7 - 10 days after operation. Three to six months after implantation, the X-ray showed that all the dental implants had perfect osseointergration and the alveolar bone were successfully augmented.

Conclusions: Bone debris harvested by self-developed bone collector could repair small peri-implant bone defects, which is simple to use in clinic.

Objective: To establish an automatic reduction method for unilateral zygomatic fractures based on Iterative Closes Point (ICP) algorithm.

Material And Methods: 60 patients with unilateral type B zygomatic fractures were included. After acquiring CT images, zygomatic fragments were segmented using self-developed software MICSys.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the use of the CT generative adversarial networks (CTGANs) algorithm to enhance mandibular reconstruction surgery by creating a reference model based on preoperative imaging data from 27 patients.
  • Researchers analyzed generated images and assessed differences through mean squared error (MSE) and statistical methods to ensure accuracy of the generated models compared to actual surgical results.
  • The application of CTGANs allowed for the development of customized surgical guides for a more precise reconstruction process, with postoperative analyses confirming the effectiveness of the surgical outcomes against the expected models.

Objective: To minimize variations in treatment outcomes of L5/S1 percutaneous intervertebral radiofrequency thermocoagulation (PIRFT) arising from physician proficiency and achieve precise quantitative risk assessment of the puncture paths.

Methods: We used a self-developed deep neural network DWT-UNet for automatic segmentation of the magnetic resonance (MR) images of the L5/S1 segments into 7 key structures: L5, S1, Ilium, Disc, N5, Dura mater, and Skin, based on which a needle insertion path planning environment was modeled. Six hard constraints and 6 soft constraints were proposed based on clinical criteria for needle insertion, and the physician's experience was quantified into weights using the analytic hierarchy process and incorporated into the risk function for needle insertion paths to enhance individual case adaptability.

Background: Hypertension affects 26.7% of Pakistan's population, with only 6% achieving control. This study investigates antihypertensive medication adherence in Multan, focusing on socioeconomic and patient-related factors influencing non-adherence to study the lack of adherence to antihypertensive medications in hypertensive patients and its associated factors at Nishtar Hospital in Multan, Pakistan.

Background: Due to its unique anatomical characteristics, supracondylar fractures of the humerus are often difficult to achieve firm fixation with internal fixation equipment, resulting in delayed functional exercise, often leaving cubitus varus deformity, elbow stiffness, contractures, and other complications. Here, we report an adult patient with a supracondylar fracture of the humerus who underwent internal fixation through an anterior median incision in the humerus with our self-developed anterior anatomical locking plate of the distal humerus.

Case Presentation: A 29-year-old male patient of Chinese ethnicity with trauma-induced right supracondylar fracture of the humerus and multiple soft tissue contusions, without nerve damage, blood vessel damage, or other injuries, underwent an internal incision in our hospital using a new anatomical locking plate for the anterior distal humerus fixed treatment.
