Background: Typical sequelae of Perthes disease and Perthes-like deformities comprise a short femoral neck, aspherical femoral head, and greater trochanteric overgrowth. Morscher's osteotomy aims at restoring the normal extra-articular anatomy, but incapable of restoring a normal head-neck contour with residual impingement. Femoral neck lengthening osteotomy combined with osteochondroplasty through surgical hip dislocation approach was not previously described in the literature.

Buschke-Ollendorff syndrome is a rare condition characterized by skin manifestations and osteopoikilosis. We describe a mother and her son who presented with indurated skin lesions suggestive of connective tissue naevi. X-rays showed multiple symmetrical foci of osteosclerosis.

Background: Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease is characterized by avascular necrosis of the head of the femur. This article deals with the epidemiology, possible causes, treatment and prognostic factors connected with the disease.
Material And Method: The article is based on a non-systematic literature search and own clinical practice, with special emphasis on a Norwegian countrywide study of children with Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease.

Background: Childhood hip disorders including acetabular dysplasia, congenital hip dislocation, epiphysiolysis, and morbus Calve-Legg-Perthes are well-established risk factors for the development of early osteoarthritis of the hip. These patients have an increased risk of undergoing a total hip arthroplasty (THA) operation early in their life. However, there are very few data on implant survival in such patients.
