The flavor-singlet H dibaryon, which has strangeness -2 and baryon number 2, is studied by the approach recently developed for the baryon-baryon interactions in lattice QCD. The flavor-singlet central potential is derived from the spatial and imaginary-time dependence of the Nambu-Bethe-Salpeter wave function measured in N(f)=3 full QCD simulations with the lattice size of L≃2,3,4  fm. The potential is found to be insensitive to the volume, and it leads to a bound H dibaryon with the binding energy of 30-40 MeV for the pseudoscalar meson mass of 673-1015 MeV.

A wide range of dark matter candidates have been proposed and are actively being searched for in a large number of experiments, both at high (TeV) and low (sub meV) energies. One dark matter candidate, a deeply bound sexaquark, , with mass GeV (having the same quark content as the hypothesized H-dibaryon, but long lived) is particularly difficult to explore experimentally. In this paper, we propose a scheme in which such a state could be produced at rest through the formation of -He antiprotonic atoms and their annihilation into + , identified both through the unique tag of a final state, as well as through full kinematic reconstruction of the final state recoiling against it.

Strongly Bound Dibaryon with Maximal Beauty Flavor from Lattice QCD.

We report the first lattice QCD study of the heavy dibaryons in which all six quarks have the bottom (beauty) flavor. Performing a state-of-the-art lattice QCD calculation we find clear evidence for a deeply bound Ω_{bbb}-Ω_{bbb} dibaryon in the ^{1}S_{0} channel, as a pole singularity in the S-wave Ω_{bbb}-Ω_{bbb} scattering amplitude with a binding energy -81( _{-16}^{+14})  MeV. With such a deep binding, Coulomb repulsion serves only as a perturbation on the ground state wave function of the parametrized strong potential and may shift the strong binding only by a few percent.

We present the first study of baryon-baryon interactions in the continuum limit of lattice QCD, finding unexpectedly large lattice artifacts. Specifically, we determine the binding energy of the H dibaryon at a single quark-mass point. The calculation is performed at six values of the lattice spacing a, using O(a)-improved Wilson fermions at the SU(3)-symmetric point with m_{π}=m_{K}≈420  MeV.

Deuteronlike Heavy Dibaryons from Lattice Quantum Chromodynamics.

Phys Rev Lett

October 2019

Department of Theoretical Physics, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Homi Bhabha Road, Mumbai 400005, India.

We report the first lattice quantum chromodynamics (QCD) study of deuteronlike (np-like) dibaryons with heavy quark flavors. These include particles with the following dibaryon structures and valence quark contents: Σ_{c}Ξ_{cc}(uucucc), Ω_{c}Ω_{cc}(sscscc), Σ_{b}Ξ_{bb}(uububb), Ω_{b}Ω_{bb}(ssbsbb), and Ω_{ccb}Ω_{cbb}(ccbcbb), and with spin (J) parity (P), J^{P}≡1^{+}. Using a state-of-the art lattice QCD calculation, after controlling relevant systematic errors, we unambiguously find that the ground state masses of dibaryons Ω_{c}Ω_{cc}(sscscc), Ω_{b}Ω_{bb}(ssbsbb), and Ω_{ccb}Ω_{cbb}(ccbcbb) are below their respective two-baryon thresholds, suggesting the presence of bound states that are stable under strong and electromagnetic interactions.

Mass of the H dibaryon.

Phys Rev Lett

Recent lattice QCD calculations have reported evidence for the existence of a bound state with strangeness -2 and baryon number 2 at quark masses somewhat higher than the physical values. By developing a description of the dependence of this binding energy on the up, down and strange quark masses that allows a controlled chiral extrapolation, we explore the hypothesis that this state is to be identified with the H dibaryon. Taking as input the recent results of the HAL and NPLQCD Collaborations, we show that the H dibaryon is likely to be unbound by 13±14  MeV at the physical point.
