AI Article Synopsis

  • A GaS(0.4)Se(0.6) optical parametric amplifier has been successfully operated, showcasing its effectiveness in generating optical signals.
  • It offers a tuning range for idler wavelengths between 5-11 μm and can produce pulse energies of around 10 μJ with durations less than 30 picoseconds.
  • The performance of this new material configuration is approximately three times more efficient compared to using pure GaSe.

Article Abstract

Operation of a GaS(0.4)Se(0.6) optical parametric amplifier is demonstrated with a 5-11 μm idler tuning range, maximum energies of ∼10 μJ for sub-30-ps pulse durations, and performance ∼3 times better than with pure GaSe.
