In the title compound, [Pb(2)(C(9)H(4)O(6))(2)(C(19)H(12)N(4))(2)], the Pb(II) atom is five-coordinated by two N atoms from a chelating 2-phenyl-1H-1,3,7,8-tetra-aza-cyclo-penta-[l]phenanthrene (L) ligand and three O atoms from two Hbtc ligands (H(3)btc is benzene-1,3,5-tricarb-oxy-lic acid), resulting in a distorted PbN(2)O(3) coordination. Two Pb(II) atoms are bridged by the Hbtc ligands, forming a discrete centrosymmetric dinuclear complex. Inter-molecular N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions between the pyridine and imidazole rings, and between the pyridyl rings of the L ligands [centroid-centroid distances = 3.600 (6) and 3.732 (6) Å] lead to a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have emerged as promising candidates for electrochemical energy storage and conversion due to their high specific surface areas, abundant active sites, and excellent chemical and structural tunability. However, the direct utilization of MOFs as electrochemical materials is a challenge because of the poor electroconductivity induced by the insulating nature of most organic linkers. Herein, a conjugated three-dimensional Ni-MOF {Ni(HBTC)(BPE)} () with a 2-fold interpenetrating structure was developed via the coordination polymerization of Ni, a HBTC ligand (1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid), and a vinyl-functionalized bipyridine linker (1,2-di(4-pyridyl)ethylene, BPE).

Boosting the Lithium-Ion Transport Kinetics of Sn-Based Coordination Polymers through Ligand Aromaticity Manipulation.

Tin-based compounds are promising anode materials for lithium-ion batteries owing to their low charge/discharge voltage and high theoretical capacity but are plagued by both huge volume expansion during cycling and complex synthetic procedures. Constructing a coordination network between Sn and the lithium-active organic matrix can effectively relieve the volume expansion and increase the lithium storage active site utilization. Herein, we report a facile method to prepare two one-dimensional Sn-based coordination polymers [Sn(Hcta)] () and [Sn(Hbtc)] () (Hcta = 1,3,5-cyclohexanetricarboxylic acid, Hbtc = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid) for lithium storage, which differ only in the aromaticity of the ligand.

Coordination polymers (CPs) are organo-inorganic porous materials consisting of metal ions or clusters and organic linkers. These compounds have attracted attention for use in the fluorescence detection of pollutants. Here, two Zn-based mixed-ligand-bearing CPs, [Zn(DIN)(HBTC)] (CP-1) and [Zn(DIN)(HBTC)]·ACN·HO (CP-2) (DIN = 1,4-di(imidazole-1-yl)naphthalene, HBTC = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid, and ACN = acetonitrile), were synthesized under solvothermal conditions.

The efficient removal of organic contaminants from wastewater is, nowadays, a prominent area of study due to its biological as well as environmental significance. Antibiotics are now found in wastewater because of their high use, which has become a source of aquatic pollution. These antibiotics have dangerous implications for people's health.
