The structure determination of the title salt, C(18)H(42)N(4) (2+)·2ClO(4) (-), reveals that protonation has occurred at diagonally opposite amine N atoms. Intra-molecular N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds stabilize the conformation of the dication. In the crystal, the dications are bridged by perchlorate ions via N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into supra-molecular chains propagating along the c axis and weak C-H⋯O inter-actions cross-link the chains.

Overheating remains a major barrier to chip miniaturization, leading to device malfunction. Addressing the urgent need for thermal management promotes the development of solid-state electrocaloric cooling. However, enhancing passive heat dissipation through two-dimensional materials in electrocaloric polymers typically compromises the electrocaloric effect.

Hydrogen-bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) are under fast development in broad applications but have not been well explored for chemiresistive gas sensing yet primarily due to insufficient active sites. Herein, a new porphyrin-based HOF-199 is constructed by OH···O hydrogen bonds featuring layered networks and rich free oxygen (O) atoms, which is further exfoliated into few-layer nonosheets with more dangling O sites through an ultrasound-assisted liquid exfoliation method (namely L-HOF-199). Benefiting from rich electron-donor sites, L-HOF-199 demonstrates exceptional NO sensing properties under ambient conditions, achieving a remarkable 3.

Cantonese sausages are susceptible to oxidative deterioration during storage. Compared with synthetic antioxidants, dihydromyricetin (DMY) is a natural active substance with various functions such as antioxidant and antimicrobial. In this study, edible coating solutions loaded with DMY were prepared based on chitosan (CS) and pullulan (PUL) to prolong the shelf-life of Cantonese sausages.

Cyclolinopeptides (CLS) are hydrophobic cyclic peptides in flaxseed with multiple bioactive activities. This study developed zein (Z)-cyclodextrin (CD) binary nanoparticles (NPs) as an oral delivery system for CLS. Z-CD NP had a smaller diameter (D) and better encapsulation effect on CLS.

Nanozyme-based sensors for detecting ascorbic acid (AA) generally depend on the reducibility of the analyte. However, these sensors are susceptible to interference from reducing substances in food. Herein, a novel fluorescent sensor for AA detection was developed based on inhibiting the phosphatase-like activity of a Zr-based metal-organic framework (Zr-CAU-28).
