In the title compound, [Pb(C(8)H(7)O(2))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)](n), the Pb(II) ion is coordinated by two 4-methyl-benzoate (PMB) and one nicotinamide (NA) ligands while symmetry-related NA ligands bridge adjacent Pb(II) ions, forming polymeric chains along the c axis. The carboxyl-ate groups in the two PMB ions are twisted away from the attached benzene ring by 22.9 (2) and 4.6 (2)°. The two benzene rings of the PMB ions are oriented at a dihedral angle of 83.7 (1)°. In a polymeric chain, the NA ligands are linked to PMB ions through intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. In the crystal structure, adjacent polymeric chains inter-act via N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional network parallel to the bc plane.

Computational techniques have been used to analyze the molecules of 10-hydroxycoronahydine (HC) and voacangine hydroxyindolenine (VH) molecules with the aim of studying the effect of base and temperature on their interaction mechanisms during synthesis green magnetite nanoparticles. Density functional theory (DFT) descriptors such as: energy gap, overall reactivity descriptors, dipole moment and adsorption energy have all been explored in depth to understand the nature of the interaction. The DFT results showed that the molecules studied (HC and VH) are interactive and stable in an aqueous medium, due to the fact that these molecules have free electronic doublets on the nitrogen atom and the bond of the aromatic ring.

Chitosan-based membranes are promising alternatives to synthetic membranes in a number of specialized use cases, including water purification and electrochemical devices. In application, excessive swelling when hydrated can lead to poor mechanical integrity, necessitating modifications to the polymer so as to counter this effect. Embedding inorganic fillers within an organic polymer matrix is one method of combining excellent mechanical stability with good performance.

ZVI-Fenton, which is the combination of zero-valent iron (metallic Fe) and HO is a relatively cheap advanced oxidation process for the elimination of contaminants from wastewater. Here we experimentally tested the ZVI-Fenton reaction at pH 4 towards two crucial goals in the treatment of secondary (partially treated) urban wastewater: (i) degradation of pharmaceuticals such as anti-inflammatory drugs (ibuprofen) and antibiotics (cefazolin, sulfamethoxazole), and (ii) elimination of a considerable fraction of bacteria through a combination of acidic pH and strongly oxidising conditions. In detail, ZVI-Fenton at pH 4 achieved degradation of both primary contaminants and potentially problematic transformation intermediates.

Chitosan nanosheets (NS) stabilized on poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene): poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT: PSS) was functionalized using FeO to capacitively remove chloride ions and toxic cadmium ions at optimized pH, concentration, and number of charging cycles. The synthesis procedure was investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD), Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM), Scanning Electron Microscope - Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (SEM-EDS), and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET). The analyses confirms increase in surface area of the nanocomposite from 41 to 132 m/g and a decrease in crystallinity from 75.

Background: Climate change threatens sub-Saharan Africa's agricultural production, causing abiotic and biotic stressors. The study of plant responses to joint stressors is crucial for understanding molecular processes and identifying resilient crops for global food security. This study aimed to explore the shared and tailored responses of okra plants (cv.
