The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(30)H(36)N(2)O(2), contains one half-mol-ecule, the other half being generated by a crystallographic inversion centre. The crystal structure is devoid of any classical hydrogen bonds however, non-classical C-H⋯O inter-actions link the mol-ecules into chains propagating in [001] and a C-H⋯π inter-action leads to the formation of a two-dimensional network in (011).

Bilateral Asymmetric Traumatic Dislocation of the Hip: Case Report.

Rev Bras Ortop (Sao Paulo)

November 2024

Departamento de Ortopedia e Traumatologia, Hospital Universitário de Santa Maria, Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, Santa Maria, RS, Brasil.

Traumatic hip dislocations are serious traumas, the result of high-energy mechanisms, constituting one of the orthopedic emergencies. The epidemiology of asymmetric bilateral hip dislocation is an extremely rare orthopedic condition. Prompt diagnosis and urgent reduction are essential due to the high risk of future complications.

Brachial neuritis, or Parsonage-Turner syndrome, is a rare disease characterized by a sudden, self-limiting pain in the upper limb followed by weakness and atrophy of the shoulder girdle muscles. Bilateral brachial plexus involvement occurs in between 10 and 30% of the patients, but symptoms are usually asymmetrical. The most common etiological factors include infection (25 to 55%) and autoimmune conditions.

We present the case of a 42-year-old Indian male with prurigo nodularis, exhibiting multiple verrucous, brownish-black nodules on the left lower and right upper extremities, with milder involvement of the right lower extremity. The lesions were asymmetrically distributed in a near-linear pattern, with prominent white hyperkeratosis and associated moderate pruritus and paresthesia. Differential diagnoses included pemphigoid nodularis, verruca vulgaris, and hypertrophic lichen planus, with a biopsy confirming prurigo nodularis.

Abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) is a common gynecological condition that disrupts women's health due to irregularities in menstrual frequency, duration, and volume, often resulting in a significant impact on daily life and productivity. Accurate diagnosis of AUB is critical but complicated by its varied etiologies and presentations. Recent advancements in imaging techniques, particularly the Morphological Uterus Sonographic Assessment (MUSA), have enhanced the diagnostic precision of uterine pathologies such as fibroids and adenomyosis.

A Survey of Fatty Acid Content of the Male Reproductive System in Mice Supplemented With Arachidonic Acid.

Department of Genetic Engineering, CINVESTAV Irapuato Unit, Km 9.6 Libramiento Norte, Carretera Irapuato-León, Irapuato, Guanajuato 36824, Mexico.

Paternal exposure to high-fat diets or individual fatty acids (FAs) including arachidonic acid (AA) modifies progeny traits by poorly understood mechanisms. Specific male reproductive system FAs may be involved in paternal inheritance, as they can modify a range of cellular components, including the epigenome. Our objective was to determine FAs in compartments of the male reproductive system that potentially affect ejaculate composition-right and left testicular interstitial fluid (TIF), vesicular gland fluid (VGF), and epididymal adipose tissue (EAT)-in mice exposed to AA or vehicle daily for 10 days ( = 9-10/group).
