Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is clinically distinguished by its covert onset, rapid progression, high recurrence rate, and poor prognosis. Studies have revealed that SETDB1 (SET Domain Bifurcated 1) is a histone H3 methyltransferase located on chromosome 1 and plays a crucial role in carcinogenesis. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate the clinical significance of SETDB1 expression in HCC.

Purpose Of The Review: Ultra-processed foods (UPFs) represent foods that have undergone substantial industrial processing, such as the addition of preservatives and various other ingredients, thereby making them more tasty, appealing and easy to consume. UPFs are often rich in sugars, saturated fats and salt, while they are low in essential nutrients. The aim of this review is to examine the relationship between the widespread consumption of UPFs and the development of obesity among children and adolescents.

Seawall construction has complex ecological impacts. However, the ecological mechanisms within plankton communities under tidal restriction resulting from seawall construction remain unexplored. Using environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding, this study examined the impact of seawall construction on the assembly process of planktonic eukaryote and bacteria communities from the unrestricted area and the tide-restricted area in the Chongming Dongtan Nature Reserve of Yangtze River Estuary.

Macroalgae widely distribute in intertidal zones, one of blue carbon organisms. However, the regulatory mechanisms of tide on the carbon sequestration of macroalgae are still unclear. This study explored the effects of desiccation-rewetting cycles induced by tide on dissolved organic carbon (DOC) release from Ulva pertusa, which is prevalent from high to low tidal zones.
