Published: July 2009

All non-H atoms except for the Cl atoms lie on a mirror plane in the title complex, [ZnCl(2)(C(16)H(16)N(2)O(2))]. The Zn(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms from a bis-chelating 2,9-dieth-oxy-1,10-phenanthroline ligand and two symmetry-related Cl atoms in a distorted tetra-hedral environment. The two Zn-N bond lengths are significantly different from each other and the N-Zn-N angle is acute. In the crystal structure, there are weak but significant π-π stacking inter-actions between phenanthroline rings, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.764 (1) Å.

This study explores novel therapeutic avenues for diabetes, a global health concern marked by elevated blood glucose levels. We investigated the anti-diabetic potential of Gymnema Sylvestre's bioactive compounds, including Gymnemic acid I, Stigmasterol, Deacylgymnemic acid, Beta-Amyrin acetate, Longispinogenin, Gymnemic acid II, Gymnemic acid, Gymnemic acid X, Gymnemaside VI, Phytic acid and Gymnemic acid X. Employing network pharmacology, molecular docking and molecular dynamics (MD), we elucidated the potential mechanism of action.

Background: HIV continues to disproportionately impact men who have sex with men (MSM) in the United States (US). Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is effective, but disparities persist. Limited studies have conducted systematic evaluations of social determinants of health (SDOH) and their effects on PrEP persistence among MSM.

Ethnic Differences in the Association Between Cognitive Performance and Informant-rated Cognitive Decline.

Objectives: It is unknown whether cognitive test scores are equivalently associated with informant-rated cognitive decline across culturally and linguistically diverse older adults. We examined the association between cognitive domain scores on the Harmonized Cognitive Assessment Protocol (HCAP) and informant-rated cognitive decline in a harmonized population-based sample of older adults.

Design, Setting, And Participants: We combined data from the HCAP sub-study of the Health and Retirement Study (HRS; 2016) and the Brain Attack Surveillance in Corpus Christi-Cognitive (BASIC-C; 2018-2020) study.

Epidemiological and eradication trial evidence indicates that , a major causative factor in peptic ulcer and gastric cancer, is a driver of the hypokinesia of Parkinson's disease (PD). Psychological (cognitive impairment, depression and anxiety) and gastrointestinal (peptic ulceration and constipation) PD features can precede the symptomatic onset of motor features by decades. We hypothesise that the non- (NHPH), which have farm, companion and wild animals as their main hosts, can have a role in PD aetiopathogenesis.

The development and application of a new method for quantifying total atmospheric sulfur in the Alberta Oil Sands.

Air Quality Process Research Section, Air Quality Research Division, Environment and Climate Change Canada, Toronto, ON, Canada.

Continuous ambient sulfur measurements are routinely conducted around the globe at numerous monitoring sites impacted by industrial sources such as gas and oil processing facilities, pulp and paper mills, smelters, sewage treatment facilities, or concentrated animal feeding operations, as well as natural sources such as volcanoes. Various jurisdictions have or plan to establish Air Ambient Quality Objectives/Guidelines/Standards for Total Reduced Sulfur (TRS) based on odor perception and/or health effects. A conventional TRS monitoring technique is widely used, but few studies have looked at potential biases in the resulting TRS measurements.
