The title compound, C(32)H(28)N(2)O, is a flexible Schiff base displaying a trans configuration across the C=N double bond. It was prepared in high yield by condensation of α-methyl-cinnamaldehyde and bis-(4-amino-phen-yl) ether in methanol at room temperature. The sample, with pseudo-ortho-rhom-bic cell parameters, exhibited merohedral twinning by rotation 180° around a*, with a refined twin domain fraction of 0.722 (1). The elongated shape of the elementary cell corresponds to the shape and direction of the mol-ecules. The dihedral angle between the O-linked aromatic rings is 57.86 (8)°.

Localized high-concentration electrolytes (LHCEs) offer a new methodology to improve the functionality of conventional electrolytes. Understanding the impact of antisolvents on bulk electrolytes is critical to the construction of sophisticated LHCEs. However, the mechanism of how antisolvent modulates the electrochemical reactivity of the solvation structure in LHCEs remains unclear.

Compared to traditional liquid electrolytes, solid electrolytes have received widespread attention due to their higher safety. In this work, a vinyl functionalized metal-organic framework porous material (MIL-101(Cr)-NH-Met, noted as MCN-M) is synthesized by postsynthetic modification. A novel three-dimensional hybrid gel composite solid electrolyte (GCSE-P/MCN-M) is successfully prepared via in situ gel reaction of a mixture containing multifunctional hybrid crosslinker (MCN-M), lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (LiTFSI), ethylene carbonate (EC), diethylene glycol monomethyl ether methacrylate (EGM) and polyethylene (vinylidene fluoridee) (PVDF).

Previously, it was reported that mRNA/cationic liposome complexes (mRNA lipoplexes) composed of the cationic triacyl lipid, 11-((1,3-bis(dodecanoyloxy)-2-((dodecanoyloxy)methyl)propan-2-yl)amino)-,,- trimethyl-11-oxoundecan-1-aminium bromide (TC-1-12), with 1,2-dioleoyl-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine and poly(ethylene glycol) cholesteryl ether, induce high protein expression in human cervical carcinoma HeLa cells. In the present study, the authors aimed to optimize mRNA transfection using TC-1-12-based mRNA lipoplexes. mRNA lipoplexes were prepared at various charge ratios (+:-) using modified ethanol injection (MEI) and thin-film hydration (TFH) methods and compared the protein expression efficiency after transfection of HeLa cells with the developed mRNA lipoplexes.

Stabilization of the silicon-based anode in lithium-ion batteries heavily depends on electrolyte engineering. However, despite the effectiveness of localized high-concentration electrolytes in enhancing battery life, most studies have focused on solvents and lithium salts, highlighting the urgent need for advanced diluents tailored to silicon-based anodes. Here, a nonflammable electrolyte with a weakly lithiophilic diluent is reported by introducing methyl perfluorobutyl ether into a mixture of lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide and 1,2-dimethoxyethane, for the enhancement of silicon-based anode.
