The title compound [Cd(L)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n) (L = 3-pyridine-propionic acid, C(8)H(8)NO(2)), is a two-dimensional coordination polymer in which the Cd(II) ion lies on an inversion center and is coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral environment. The aqua H atoms are involved in inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, which extend the two-dimensional structure to a three-dimensional architecture. The Cd⋯Cd separation within a layer is 9.0031 (1) Å.

A new two-dimensional (2D) coordination polymer, namely, poly[[diaqua[μ-(S)-2-(benzylamino)succinato-κN,O:O:O]cadmium(II)] monohydrate], {[Cd(CHNO)(HO)]·HO}, has been synthesized by the solvothermal reaction of Cd(CHCOO)·2HO with the synthesized ligand (S)-2-(benzylamino)succinic acid (HL). The title compound has been structurally characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. In the crystal structure, each Cd cation binds to three carboxylate groups from three symmetry-related L dianions.

In the title compound, [CdNi(CHN)(CN)] , the Cd and Ni atoms both lie on centres of inversion in space group 2/. The Cd atom is coordinated by two bidentate quinolin-8-amine ligands and by the N atoms of two cyano ligands, while the square planar Ni atom is coordinated by the C atoms of four cyano ligands. These units form a one-dimensional coordination polymer containing an (-NC-Ni-CN-Cd-) backbone, and the coordination polymer chains are linked into a three-dimensional array by a combination of N-H⋯N and C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, augmented by a π-π stacking inter-action.

The title coordination polymer, poly[bis[μ3-4-(3,2':6',3''-terpyridin-4'-yl)benzoato]cadmium(II)], [Cd(CHNO)] or [Cd(3-cptpy)], (I), has been synthesized solvothermally and characterized by IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, and single-crystal and powder X-ray diffraction. The structure is composed of 3-cptpy ligands bridging Cd atoms, with each Cd atom coordinated by six ligands and each ligand coordinating to three Cd atoms. Each Cd atom is in a slightly distorted trans-NO octahedral environment, forming a two-dimensional layer structure with a (3,6)-connected topology.
