In the methanol solvate of the title 1:1 cocrystal, C(29)H(28)F(6)N(4)OS·C(5)H(9)NO(2)·CH(4)O, the l-proline mol-ecule exists as a zwitterion. In the crystal, the disubstituted thio-urea, l-proline and methanol mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯O and N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional array in the ab plane.

Goji berry ( L.), also known as wolfberry, is a traditional Chinese medicinal herb widely utilized as a functional food ingredient throughout East Asia. In this study, we developed a rapid high performance liquid chromatography-diode array detection (HPLC-DAD) method for the simultaneous separation of carotenoids in goji berries.

The direct synthesis of dimethyl carbonate (DMC) from CO and methanol over ceria-based catalysts, in the presence of a dehydrating agent shifting the thermodynamical equilibrium of the reaction, has received significant interest recently. In this work, several dehydrating agents, such as molecular sieves, 2,2-dimethoxypropane (DMP), dimethoxymethane (DMM) and 1,1,1-trimethoxymethane (TMM), are combined with commercial ceria to compare their influence on the DMC yield obtained under the same set of operating conditions. TMM is found to be the most efficient; however, its conversion is not complete even after 48 h of reaction.

This study investigates the mass spectrometric analysis of 10 novel amidoamine oxide compounds, which are innovative hydrogelators for polar solvents. This research aims to identify characteristic fragment patterns for these amide compounds using high-resolution mass spectrometry. Methanol solutions of the compounds were analyzed in positive and negative ion modes, and MS1 and MS2 spectra at 6 collision energy levels were obtained via electrospray ionization and hybrid tandem mass spectrometry.

This study introduces Cold-processed Lignin in (M)ethanol Oil (CLEO/CLiMO), a novel biofuel technology derived from the alcohol-fractionation of lignin at ambient temperatures, offering a sustainable alternative to conventional marine fuels. The production process achieved solid loadings of up to 60 wt% lignin and a volumetric energy density 39 % higher than pure alcohols. Lignin concentrations above 30 wt% promoted colloidal stability through the proposed formation of a spanning network of lignin aggregates, associated with a 100-fold increase of viscosity.

CO electrochemical reduction is a sustainable approach to achieve chemical fixation of CO and storage of renewable energy. However, the catalyst which has the ability of mediating CO to a single product with a relatively high current density is highly demand. Herein, we reported a metallic nitrogen-carbon catalyst based on two kinds of metal phthalocyanines by a facile synthesis method.
