A small quantity of the title compound, C(8)H(20)N(2) (2+)·2Br(-), was formed as a by-product in a reaction between a diamine and an alkyl bromide. The asymmetric unit contains half of a centrosymmetric dication and a bromide anion. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular C-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds consolidate the crystal packing.

In the present study, the mixed micellization behavior of gemini surfactant-1, 5-bis (N-hexadecyl- N, N-dimethylammonium) pentane dibromide (G5) with non-ionic surfactant triton X-100 (TX-100) was investigated in the micellar phase by utilizing the conductometric technique. The deviation of ideal critical micelle concentration (cmc*) from experimental critical micelle concentration (cmc) has been estimated using well-known Clint's theory of mixed micelles. The regular solution approximation was used to determine the interaction parameter (β) and found to be negative.

The current study focuses on synthesis and characterization of carbonyl functionalized unsymmetrical diorganotellurium(iv) dichlorides (1-5), dibromide (6), and their characterization by elemental analysis, H, C{H}, and Te NMR spectroscopy. In addition to this, compounds 1, 4 and 5 were further confirmed single-crystal X-ray studies. Reduction of all the dichlorides with NaSO affords labile tellurides, which decompose quickly even at room temperature into the more stable symmetric ditellurides, ArTe.

In this research, we fabricated an innovative NiO/CN/Ag composite through the straightforward electrostatic assembly of Ag nanoparticles and g-CN sheets onto NiO nanoflowers. This composite enables both surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) detection and photo-degradation of pesticides. The results reveal NiO/CN/Ag can quantitatively detect thiram (TRM) and diquat dibromide (DQDB) in water, with a limit of detection (LOD) of 10 M, and also exhibit outstanding photo-degradation efficiency, exceeding 95 % for TRM and DQDB within 90 min under simulated sunlight.

Europium halide perovskites are promising candidates for environmentally benign blue-light emitters with their narrow emission line width. However, the development of high-photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) colloidal europium halide perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs) is hindered by limited synthetic methods and elusive reaction mechanisms. Here, we provide an effective synthetic route for achieving high-PLQY deep-blue-emitting colloidal CsEuBr PNCs.

Article Synopsis
  • - Antimony selenosulfide (Sb(S,Se)) is gaining attention for its potential in photovoltaic applications due to its excellent photoelectric properties, with recent improvements achieved through hydrothermal deposition techniques.
  • - The introduction of barium dibromide (BaBr) helps suppress both bulk and interface defects by enhancing the growth conditions of the cadmium sulfide (CdS) buffer layer, leading to better crystallinity in Sb(S,Se) films.
  • - As a result, the device efficiency improved from 7.70% to 10.12%, demonstrating how manipulating nucleation kinetics can optimize the quality of the absorber material in solar cells.
