The conformation of the title compound, C(12)H(17)N(3)O, is consolidated by an intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond, generating an S(5) ring. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of N-H⋯O inter-actions occur, resulting in R(2) (2)(8) ring motifs.

The abnormally viscous and thick mucus is a hallmark of cystic fibrosis (CF). How the mutated CF gene causes abnormal mucus remains an unanswered question of paramount interest. Mucus is produced by the hydration of gel-forming mucin macromolecules that are stored in intracellular granules prior to release.

Ethylene glycol dinitrate (EGDN) is a nitrate ester explosive widely used in military ordnance and missile systems. This study investigates the decomposition dynamics of the EGDN cation using a comprehensive approach that combines femtosecond time-resolved mass spectrometry (FTRMS) experiments with electronic structure and molecular dynamics computations. We identify three distinct dissociation time scales for the metastable EGDN cation of approximately 40-60 fs, 340-450 fs, and >2 ps.

The diphthamide modification of eukaryotic translation elongation factor (eEF2) is important for accurate protein synthesis. While the enzymes for diphthamide synthesis are known, coordination of eEF2 synthesis with the diphthamide modification to maintain only modified eEF2 is unknown. Physical and genetic interactions extracted from BioGRID show a connection between diphthamide synthesis enzymes and chaperones in yeast.

Microtubules (MTs) constitute the largest components of the eukaryotic cytoskeleton and play crucial roles in various cellular processes, including mitosis and intracellular transport. The property allowing MTs to cater to such diverse roles is attributed to dynamic instability, which is coupled to the hydrolysis of GTP (guanosine-5'-triphosphate) to GDP (guanosine-5'-diphosphate) within the β-tubulin monomers. Understanding the equilibrium dynamics and the structural features of both GDP- and GTP-complexed MT tips, especially at an all-atom level, remains challenging for both experimental and computational methods because of their dynamic nature and the prohibitive computational demands of simulating large, many-protein systems.

Resistance to endocrine therapies remains a major clinical hurdle in breast cancer. Mutations to estrogen receptor alpha (ERα) arise after continued therapeutic pressure. Next generation selective estrogen receptor modulators and degraders/downregulators (SERMs and SERDs) show clinical efficacy, but responses are often non-durable.
