In the title complex, {[Pr(C(2)O(4))(1.5)(H(2)O)(2)]·H(2)O}(n), the Pr(III) ion, which lies on a crystallographic inversion centre, is coordinated by seven O atoms from four oxalate ligands and two O atoms from two water ligands; further Pr-O coordination from tetra-dentate oxalate ligands forms a three-dimensional structure. The compound crystallized as a monohydrate, the water mol-ecule occupying space in small voids and being secured by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding as an acceptor from ligand water H atoms and as a donor to oxalate O-acceptor sites.

The binding of carbon dioxide to a transition metal is a complex phenomenon that involves a major redistribution of electron density between the metal center and the triatomic ligand. The chemical reduction of the ligand reveals itself unambiguously by an angular distortion of the CO-molecule as a result of the occupation of an anti-bonding π-orbital and a shift of its antisymmetric stretching vibration, ν, to lower wavenumbers. Here, we generate a carbon dioxide complex of the heavier group-10 metal, platinum, by ultrafast electronic excitation and cleavage of CO from the photolabile oxalate precursor, oxaliplatin, and monitored the ensuing primary dynamics with ultrafast mid-infrared spectroscopy.

Cryogenic magnetic refrigerants based on the magnetocaloric effect (MCE) hold significant potential as substitutes for the expensive and scarce He-3. Gd(III)-based complexes are considered excellent candidates for low-temperature magnetic refrigerants. We have synthesized a series of Ln(III)-based metal-organic framework (MOF) (Ln = Gd/Dy) by the slow release of oxalates in situ from organic ligands (disodium edetate dehydrate (EDTA-2Na) and thiodiglycolic acid).

Compounds featuring bonds between mercury and transition metals are of interest for their intriguing/ambiguous bonding and scarcely explored reactivities. We report herein the synthesis and reactivities of the new compound [(POCOP)Ni]Hg, [NiHg], featuring a trinuclear Ni-Hg-Ni core (POCOP=κ,κ,κ-2,6-(i-PrPO)CH). [NiHg] reacts with CO to give the carbonate-bridged complex [NiCO].

In this study, phosphoramide compounds were successfully synthesized a series of reaction transformations from P(O)H compounds. The process began with the formation of P-Se-Ar bonds, facilitated by the synergistic effect of phenylboronic acid, selenium, and appropriate ligands in the presence of copper. Following this, nucleophilic substitution reactions with amine compounds were conducted to create P-N bonds.

The early stages of kidney crystal formation involve inflammation and hypoxia-induced cell injury; however, the role of the hypoxic response in kidney crystal formation remains unclear. This study investigated the effects of a prolyl hydroxylase domain inhibitor (roxadustat) on renal calcium oxalate (CaOx) crystal formation through in vitro and in vivo approaches. In the in vitro experiment, murine renal tubular cells (RTCs) were exposed to varying roxadustat concentrations and CaOx crystals.
