Objectives: Skin conditions carry a substantial psychological burden but support for patients is limited. Digital technology could support patient self-management; we found preliminary evidence for the effectiveness and acceptability of digital psychological interventions for adults living with skin conditions. We have, therefore, developed a complex digital intervention called MiDerm with patients.

Addictions seem to be more frequent in atopic dermatitis and psoriasis patients than in the general population. This cross-sectional observational study comparatively evaluated substance-related and behavioural addictions in atopic dermatitis and psoriasis patients and analysed possible addiction patterns. From October 2023 to April 2024, 100 atopic dermatitis and 104 psoriasis patients at a German university hospital completed an anonymous questionnaire, including sociodemographic and health-related parameters, along with validated assessment tools for common addictions (smoking, gambling, alcohol, drugs, food, and internet).

The comorbidity cycle between psoriasis and addictions remains unclear. The study aimed to investigate the cumulative incidence of addictions in psoriasis patients and controls in the Stockholm Psoriasis Cohort (SPC). The SPC is an observational cohort study that enrolled psoriasis patients between 2001 and 2005 and matched controls using the Swedish Total Population Register.

To examine the impact of an educational approach incorporating behavioral modification and the Health Belief Model on the adherence to skin moisturizing care, itch severity, self-efficacy, and quality of life among individuals diagnosed with psoriasis vulgaris. A study involving 108 psoriasis vulgaris patients (November 2022-October 2023) utilized random allocation to form experimental and control groups. The control group received standard care, including medication guidance, general health education, and basic nursing support.
