Soil salinization is a major environmental stress limiting plant growth and development, affecting crop yields worldwide. We investigated the role of AtDPBF3, encoding a key member of the ABI5 subfamily, in the response to salt stress. The AtDPBF3 mutant (dpbf3) was significantly more sensitive to salt stress compared with wild type.

Antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) have escalated to levels of concern worldwide as emerging environmental pollutants. Increasing evidence suggests that non-antibiotic antimicrobial substances expedite the spread of ARGs. However, the drivers and mechanisms involved in the generation and spread of ARGs in the atmosphere remain inadequately elucidated.

Study Objective: With the growing prominence of peripheral nerve stimulation technology, the clinical applications and potential neurophysiological mechanisms of external trigeminal nerve stimulation (eTNS) have garnered increasing attention. Despite its status as the sole neuromodulation method commonly employed in sleep, no studies have explored the effects of eTNS at varying frequencies on sleep activities. This study aims to investigate the regulatory effects of high-frequency and low-frequency eTNS on sleep activities using polysomnography.

Activated sludge is an important reservoir for the co-occurring emerging contaminants including nanoplastics (NPs) and antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs). However, the impacts and potential mechanisms of NPs on the fate of ARGs in activated sludge are not fully understood. Herein, we used metagenomic approach to investigate the responses of ARGs, host bacteria, mobile genetic elements (MGEs), and functional genes to polystyrene (PS) NPs at environmentally relevant (0.

Growth-factor-induced cell signaling plays a crucial role in development; however, negative regulation of this signaling pathway is important for sustaining homeostasis and preventing diseases. SPROUTY2 (SPRY2) is a potent negative regulator of receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) signaling that binds to GRB2 during RTK activation and inhibits the GRB2-SOS complex, which inhibits RAS activation and attenuates the downstream RAS/ERK signaling cascade. SPRY was formerly discovered in but was later discovered in higher eukaryotes and was found to be connected to many developmental abnormalities.
