Objective: To study the effects of oviductus rana on the alleviation of physical fatigue in rats and their mechanisms.

Methods: 64 Kunming male rats were divided into 4 groups by random: the control group and 3 oviductus rana groups, 16 mice in each group. Oviductus rana homogenates at 1, 5 and 10 times of dosage used for the adults (6 g/60 kg BW) were given by gavage for the low, medium and high dose oviductus rana groups for 21 days. The rats in the control group were given normal saline by gavage. A loaded swimming test was carried on 8 rats of each group at one hour after the last gavage. The other 8 rats in each group were swimming for 30 minutes and blood, liver and muscle samples were taken after resting for 30 minutes. Blood sugar, blood urea nitrogen and blood lactic acid, hepatic glycogen and muscle glycogen were examined.

Results: The swimming time insisted in the loaded swimming test in oviductus rana groups was higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05, P < 0.01); the content of blood urea nitrogen and lactic acid in the oviductus rana groups was dropped and lower than the control group (P < 0.05, P < 0.01); the content of blood sugar, hepatic glycogen and muscle glycogen was raised and higher than the control group (P < 0.05, P < 0.01).

Conclusion: There is an effect of Oviducts Rana on alleviating physical fatigue in mice.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study focuses on the genome analysis of a significant aquaculture species in Northeast China, which highlights the economic value of female individuals due to their use in traditional medicine.
  • - Using next-generation sequencing, researchers obtained extensive genomic data, characterizing the genome's size, heterozygosity, and gene content, while generating 270,785 contigs and 498 scaffolds.
  • - The research identifies homologies with male-specific DNA markers and suggests that there may be additional genes influencing the sex determination mechanism in this species, indicating complexity beyond previously recognized factors.

Oviductus Ranae is the dried oviduct from Rana dybowskii, a forest frog species with medicinal, tonic, and cosmetic properties. Due to the high price and resource shortage, counterfeit varieties of Oviductus Ranae often appear in the market. However, traditional identification methods cannot accurately differentiate between Oviductus Ranae and its adulterants.

The oviduct of female Rana dybowskii is a functional food and can be used as a component of Traditional Chinese medicine. The differentially expressed genes enriched was screened in cell growth of three Rana species. We quantitatively analyzed 4549 proteins using proteomic techniques, enriching the differentially expressed proteins of Rana for growth and signal transduction.

ovum (RCO) is the major waste/by-product of . This study investigated physicochemical characteristics and stability of emulsified ovum oil (RCOO) with ovum protein isolates (RCOPI) by particle size, zeta potential, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), visual appearance, confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM), rheology and antioxidant capacity. The emulsified RCOO demonstrated great stability, antioxidant capacity and rheological properties.
