Advance notice of an upcoming instruction was evaluated to increase compliance among 3 children (4 to 5 years old) who exhibited noncompliance. Results show that the procedure was ineffective for all 3 participants. Advance notice plus physical guidance or physical guidance alone was necessary to increase compliance.

[Pt(NCN)MeCN] (NCN = 1,3-di(2-pyridyl)benzene, MeCN = acetonitrile) forms oligomers in the ground state due to metallophilic interactions, and a Pt-Pt bond is formed with photoexcitation. Ultrafast excited-state dynamics of the [Pt(NCN)MeCN] dimer in acetonitrile is investigated by femtosecond time-resolved absorption (TA) and picosecond emission spectroscopy. The femtosecond TA signals exhibit 60 cm oscillations arising from the Pt-Pt stretching motion in the S dimer.

Background: The advancement in non-invasive methods for diagnosing and characterizing liver disease has achieved significant success. One such methods, FibroScan, combines non-invasiveness, rapidity, painlessness, and reproducibility. However, its accuracy and value are limited in many clinical settings.

This study proposes a novel, highly sensitive neutron detector design utilizing a unique multi-layered configuration. Each layer consists of a LiF: ZnS(Ag) scintillator coupled with a transparent neutron moderator that also functions as a light guide for the Silicon Photomultiplier (SiPM) light sensor. This design offers a cost-effective and readily available alternative for existing neutron detectors.
