Myricetin has a significant role in pharmacology, specifically in traditional Chinese medicine. The most intriguing pharmacological action of myricetin consists of its multi-pathway anticancer effects. Therefore, rapid and selective isolation of myricetin from garlic and apple juices has notable pharmacological benefits.

Our previous research discovered that myricetin could effectively inhibit the formation of heterocyclic aromatic amines (HAAs) in cantonese baked foods by trapping phenylacetaldehyde to form adducts. However, the structure and biological activity of these adducts were still unknown. In this study, we identified two myricetin-phenylacetaldehyde adducts from cantonese mooncakes, BYQ-2 and BYQ-3, using pre-HPLC.

Flavonoids are a group of plant secondary metabolites that have a number of health-promoting properties and have both preventive and therapeutic effects. Research confirms that flavonoids work, among others: antiviral and anticancer. Apigenin, luteolin, isorhamnetin, kaempferol, myricetin, quercetin, hesperetin, naringenin, epicatechin and genistein have documented antiviral activity.

Background: Clinical and epidemiological analyses have found an association between coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and knee osteoarthritis (KOA). Infection with COVID-19 may increase the risk of developing KOA.
Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the potential causal relationship between COVID-19 and KOA using Mendelian randomization (MR) and to explore the underlying mechanisms through a systematic bioinformatics approach.
