To address workforce issues in professional geropsychology, clinical training sites must offer opportunities to build skills for working with older adults and aging families. Neuropalliative care (NPC) may offer a valuable learning environment for geropsychology trainees to develop professional competencies, while positively contributing to patient care. This article describes a novel clinical rotation for an advanced geropsychology trainee in an interdisciplinary specialty NPC clinic.

We aimed to determine somatic mutational profiles of stage II/III gastric cancers (GCs) according to their tumor microenvironment immune types (TMITs), which classify cancer based on co-assessment of PD-L1 expression and CD8 tumor infiltrating lymphocytes. Eighty patients with stage II/III GC were classified as follows: TMIT I (PD-L1 /CD8 ), TMIT II (PD-L1 /CD8 ), TMIT III (PD-L1 /CD8 ), and TMIT IV (PD-L1 /CD8 ). Deep targeted sequencing using a panel of 170 cancer-related genes was performed on an Illumina HiSeq-2500 system.

Cardiac output (CO) is a key determinant of major organ blood flow and solute delivery to drug eliminating organs. As such, CO assessment is a key covariate in understanding altered drug handling in the critically ill. Newer minimally-invasive devices are providing unique platforms for such an application, although comparison data are currently lacking.

Background: Currently applied indicator organism systems, such as coliforms, are not fully protective of public health from enteric viruses in water sources. Waterborne disease outbreaks have occurred in systems that tested negative for coliforms, and positive coliform results do not necessarily correlate with viral risk. It is widely recognized that bacterial indicators do not co-occur exclusively with infectious viruses, nor do they respond in the same manner to environmental or engineered stressors.
