Unlabelled: Edible films were manufactured from rapeseed oil extraction residues. To prepare rapeseed protein (RP) films, various concentrations of plasticizers and emulsifiers were incorporated into the preparation of a film-forming solution. The optimal conditions for the preparation of the RP film were 2% sorbitol/0.5% sucrose as plasticizer and 1.5% polysorbate 20 as an emulsifier. In addition, RP blend films were prepared. Gelidium corneum or gelatin was added to improve the physical properties of the RP film, and the highest tensile strength value of the films was 53.45 MPa for the 3% RP/4% gelatin film. Our results suggest that the RP-gelatin blend film is suitable for applications in food packaging.
Practical Application: Edible RP films prepared in the present investigation can be applied in food packaging.

Rapeseed ( L.) is known for its high-quality seed oil and protein content. However, its use in animal feed is restricted due to antinutritional factors present in the seedcake, with sinapine being one of the main compounds that reduces palatability.

Glyphosate (Gly) is a widely used herbicide for weed control in agriculture, but it can also adversely affect crops by impairing growth, reducing yield, and disrupting nutrient uptake, while inducing toxicity. Therefore, adopting integrated eco-friendly approaches and understanding the mechanisms of glyphosate tolerance in plants is crucial, as these areas remain underexplored. This study provides proteome insights into Si-mediated improvement of Gly-toxicity tolerance in Brassica napus.

Bicontinuous structures are exquisite interpenetrating constructs with an optimal balance between connectivity and surface area. Such unique geometry favors exceptional mechanical properties and efficient inward mass diffusion essential for an absorbent material. Although bicontinuous structures are found across many length scales in nature, synthesizing artificial analogs using biological building blocks remains largely unexplored.

The development of rapeseed with high resistance against the pathogen Sclerotinia sclerotiorum is impeded by the lack of effective resistance resources within host species. Unraveling the molecular basis of nonhost resistance (NHR) holds substantial value for resistance improvement in crops. In the present study, small RNA sequencing and transcriptome sequencing were carried out between rice (a nonhost species of S.
