AI Article Synopsis

  • Nucleophilic deoxyfluorination targets hydroxyl groups in catechols using the Umpolung concept.
  • The method has been successfully applied to natural catechols like catechins and dopamine.
  • This process results in the creation of new fluorinated analogues of these compounds.

Article Abstract

Nucleophilic deoxyfluorinaiton of one of the two hydroxyl groups of catechols has been developed via the Umpolung concept. This method was successively applied to naturally occurring catechols, such as catechins and dopamine, to produce novel fluorinated analogues.
