In the period between January 1986 and December 1989 we have studied 60 patients with primitive lung cancer, subdivided in 3 groups according to the therapy: 20 were treated with surgery therapy, 20 with radiotherapy, 20 with chemotherapy. We have been studying a second group since September 1989; this is composed, until now, by 30 patients, subdivided in three groups as above. To each group we added alfa-2b recombinant Interferon at the dose of 3,000,000 i.m. three times a week for three months. We repeated the same therapy after three months. We have demonstrated that the combination alfa-2b recombinant interferon and the surgery therapy, radiotherapy and chemotherapy in patients with primitive lung cancer, can improve the quality of life but it doesn't prolong the duration of life.

The following text describes an analysis, ongoing for three years now, of a boy currently 12 years old, whose projective-expulsive functioning becomes evident through rude and vulgar words. The image of the Cretan labyrinth and its meanders, created by Daedalus as a "protection" against the ferocity of the Minotaur, were the inspiration for this narrative. The intricate defences that imprison the patient, with their characteristics of pathological organisation, resemble a labyrinth, and through this path, the analyst and the patient go on confronting the difficulties of the process.

Over the past 50 years, intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy (ISTDP) has been developed, implemented, and evaluated with respect to the treatment of a broad spectrum of complex, chronic, and treatment-resistant conditions. This therapy was developed specifically to treat a range of patients, including those who are highly defensive, those who experience the repression of emotions, and those who have cognitive-perceptual disruptions along with primitive defenses. These three groups of patients are characterized by patterns of attachment trauma and deficits related to neglect.

Pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAAD) is a highly malignant tumor in the digestive system, with an increasing incidence and mortality rate globally. Recent genetic studies have revealed that the abnormal expression and functional dysregulation of various genes are involved in the occurrence and progression of pancreatic cancer. NIPA-like proteins (NIPAs) are expressed in a variety of cancer types, yet the role of NIPAL1 in cancer remains unclear.

Purpose: We present the case of a rare extrahepatic portocaval shunt that resulted in communication of the portal vein and the inferior vena cava (IVC) at the level between two right renal veins that was incidentally diagnosed with contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) in an asymptomatic patient.
Methods: A woman in her sixties with abdominal pain and diarrhea of unclear origin underwent exploratory abdominal CECT.
Results: The CECT incidentally revealed an extrahepatic portocaval shunt, whereby a vessel arising from the portal vein superior to the confluence of the superior mesenteric and splenic veins drained into the posterior aspect of the IVC between two right renal veins.

Objective: Unilateral biportal endoscopic discectomy (UBE) is an emerging and minimally invasive surgeryfor lumbar spinal degenerative disease. However, the efficacy, safety and the radiological changes of dural sac and paraspinal muscle of UBE compared with the conventional percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic discectomy (PTED) remains to be determined. The purpose of the study was to comprehensively compare the clinical efficacy between UBE and PTED in the surgical treatment of lumbar spinal degenerative disease.
