In the title compound, {[Ag(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(C(6)H(12)N(4))(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O}(n), the Ag(I) atom shows a distorted triangular pyramidal geometry,, formed by two N atoms from two hexa-methyl-ene-tetra-amine (hmt) ligands and one N atom from a pyridine-4-carboxyl-ate (4-pdc) ligand and one water mol-ecule. The hmt ligands bridge the Ag atoms, forming a chain along [001]. The carboxyl-ate group of the 4-pdc ligand is uncoordinated. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the water mol-ecules and carboxyl-ate groups stabilize the structure.

Superimposing Ligands with a Ligand Overlay as an Alternate Topology Model for λ-Dynamics-Based Calculations.

Alchemical free energy (AFE) calculations can predict binding affinity changes as a function of structural modifications and have become powerful tools for lead optimization and drug discovery. Central to the setup and performance of AFE calculations is the manner of mapping alchemical transformations, known as the topology model. Single, dual, and hybrid topology models have been used with various AFE methods in the field.

FeNi-based hybrid materials are promising oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts for water electrolysis in hydrogen generation. In this work, the coordination tuning of FeNi-HMT frameworks was achieved by simply changing the Fe/Ni ratios using hexamethylenetetramine (HMT) as an organic ligand, and the derived hybrid FeNi catalysts with varied compositions were probed for OER. Incorporating varying amounts of Fe by adjusting the Ni/Fe ratio results in different metal-organic framework (MOF) structures, and higher Fe feed leads to the formation of amorphous structures due to the coordination structure destruction from the weaker coordination capacity of Fe compared to Ni combining with the tertiary amine ligand.

Article Synopsis
  • Methylthioninium chloride (MTC) is used to treat methaemoglobinaemia and a reduced form, HMTM, has shown promise in increasing blood oxygen levels (SpO) in patients with severe COVID-19.
  • A study involving 18 participants with mild hypoxaemia analyzed the effects of different doses of oral HMTM on SpO and methaemoglobin (metHb) levels.
  • Results indicated significant increases in SpO (about 3%) within 4 hours, maintained over 2 to 6 weeks, with minimal changes in metHb levels, suggesting HMTM could be a beneficial treatment for mild hypoxaemia.

In this work, a potential-resolved electrochemiluminescence (ECL) multiplex immunoassay (MIA) was developed using zirconium-based metal-organic framework (MOF) nanoparticles with intense self-ECL as an anodic ECL tag and CdTe nanocrystals (NCs) as a cathodic ECL tag. ECL luminophore 5,5'-(anthracene-9,10-diyl)diisophthalic acid (HADIP) and coreactant hexamethylenetetramine (HMT) bound to zirconium nodes in the MOF, giving Zr-ADIP-HMT nanoparticles. Benefiting from the intrareticular charge transfer (ICT) between the oxidized ligands of HADIP and HMT via hydrogen bonds, the intense self-ECL from Zr-ADIP-HMT was applied to the potential-resolved ECL MIA without an exogenous anodic coreactant, which can eliminate detrimental effects of multiplex coreactants and anodic ECL emission from CdTe NCs.

Department of Orthodontics, School and Hospital of Stomatology, Tongji University, Shanghai Engineering Research Center of Tooth Restoration and Regeneration, Shanghai, China.

The oral microbiota has been implicated in various neurologic conditions, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), a category of neurodevelopmental disorders defined by core behavioral impairments. Recent data propose the etiopathogenetic role of intestinal microbiota in ASD. The aim of the present study was to elucidate whether the oral microbiota contributes to the pathogenesis of ASD.
