Summary of case report findings: Picana (electric shock torture) is a globally used form of torture. This is the first documented case of picana applied to the tympanic membrane. Two other types of ear torture have been documented, including picana of the helix and telefono. Several types of head and neck torture are applied globally.

The outer membrane is the defining structure of Gram-negative bacteria. We previously demonstrated that it is a major load-bearing component of the cell envelope and is therefore critical to the mechanical robustness of the bacterial cell. Resilient mounts play a vital role in anti-vibration and shock-absorption systems, making precise estimation of their static and dynamic stiffness essential for ensuring optimal mechanical performance and effective design. This study investigates the behavior of resilient mounts by analyzing their static and dynamic stiffness characteristics through the application of various hyperelastic constitutive models. Seven hyperelastic models were reviewed and systematically compared using numerical simulations, experimental data, and analytical solutions.

When it is used in laser plasma propulsion, its poor absorption coefficient significantly limits its application. Background: Chagas cardiomyopathy (CCM) is a significant cause of ventricular arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death (SCD). Although, implantable cardiac defibrillators (ICD) have been used for all forms of non-ischemic cardiomyopathy (NICM), studies on ICD efficacy in CCM are scarce.
Objective: The present study aims to compare the long-term outcomes, mortality rates, and the occurrence of tachycardia therapies after ICD implantation in patients with CCM and NICM.
