At second order in gradients, conformal relativistic hydrodynamics depends on the viscosity η and on five additional "second-order" hydrodynamical coefficients τ(Π), κ, λ₁, λ₂, and λ₃. We derive Kubo relations for these coefficients, relating them to equilibrium, fully retarded three-point correlation functions of the stress tensor. We show that the coefficient λ₃ can be evaluated directly by Euclidean means and does not in general vanish.

Background: The composite physiologic index (CPI) was developed to estimate the extent of interstitial lung disease (ILD) in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) patients based on pulmonary function tests (PFTs). The CALIPER-revised version of the CPI (CALIPER-CPI) was also developed to estimate the volume fraction of ILD measured by CALIPER, an automated quantitative CT postprocessing software. Recently, artificial intelligence-based quantitative CT image analysis software (AIQCT), which can be used to quantify the bronchial volume separately from the ILD volume, was developed and validated in IPF.

We investigate the first-order liquid-liquid phase transition in fluid hydrogen, which is accompanied by a nonmetal-to-metal transition. We use a combination of density functional theory for the electrons and molecular dynamics simulations for the ions. By employing the nonlocal Heyd-Scuseria-Ernzerhof exchange-correlation functional, we accurately determine the equation of state and the corresponding coexistence line.

Quantum spin Hall insulators have attracted significant attention in recent years. Understanding the optical properties and spin Hall effect in these materials is crucial for technological advancements. In this study, we present theoretical analyses to explore the optical properties, Berry curvature and spin Hall conductivity of pristine and perturbed PbBiI using the linear combination of atomic orbitals and the Kubo formula.

A single session of aerobic or resistance training transiently enhances cognitive function, making it a valuable strategy for dementia prevention in the older people. Despite its acknowledged benefits, the precise mechanism behind exercise-induced cognitive improvement remains controversial. In the present study, we investigated the impact of altered cerebral blood flow (CBF) on brain neural activity originating from motor executive and inhibitory processing using electroencephalographic event-related potentials (EEG-ERPs).
