The cell painting assay is useful for understanding cellular phenotypic changes and drug effects. To identify other aspects of well-known chemicals, we screened 258 compounds with the cell painting assay and focused on a mitochondrial punctate phenotype seen with disulfiram. To elucidate the reason for this punctate phenotype, we looked for clues by examining staining steps and gene knockdown as well as examining protein solubility and comparing cell lines.

In this study, long-term and continuous monitoring of atmospheric radon concentration, temperature, air pressure, and humidity was conducted at China Jinping Underground Laboratory. The impacts of temperature, humidity, and air pressure on radon concentration in the experimental environment were specifically examined, along with the potential interactions among these factors. Moreover, Radon data were denoised using Singular Spectrum Analysis (SSA) to reveal factors that might influence changes in radon concentration.

Vitamin D is crucial for maintaining bone health and development, and bone mineral accumulation during childhood and adolescence affects long-term bone health. Vitamin D deficiency has been widely recognized as one of the main causes of osteoporosis and fractures, especially during the growth and development stage of children. Recent studies have shown that vitamin D deficiency may affect the deviation of bone development in children by mediating lipid metabolism disorders, but its specific mechanism of action has not been fully elucidated.

Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is a common cerebrovascular disease characterized by a high incidence, disability rate, and mortality. Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), a key catechin compound found in green tea, has received increasing attention for its potential neuroprotective and therapeutic effects in neurological disorders. Studies have indicated that EGCG may influence various signaling pathways and molecular targets, including the inhibition of oxidative stress, reduction of inflammatory responses, suppression of cell apoptosis, regulation of cell survival, and enhancement of autophagy.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm is a potentially fatal vascular inflammatory disease characterized by infiltration of various inflammatory cells. The GABA-A receptor is expressed in many inflammatory cells such as macrophages and T cells and has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Therefore, the GABA-A receptor may become a potential therapeutic target for abdominal aortic aneurysms.
