Focal cortical dysplasia (FCD) is a highly heterogeneous neurodevelopmental malformation, the underlying mechanisms of which remain largely elusive. In this study, personalized dorsal and ventral forebrain organoids (DFOs/VFOs) are generated derived from brain astrocytes of patients with FCD type II (FCD II). The pathological features of dysmorphic neurons, balloon cells, and astrogliosis are successfully replicated in patient-derived DFOs, but not in VFOs.

Objectives: The objective of this study is to investigate lipopolysaccharid-binding protein (LBP), zonulin and calprotectin as markers of bacterial translocation, disturbed gut barrier and intestinal inflammation in patients with radiographic axial spondyloarthritis (r-axSpA) during tumour necrosis factor inhibitor (TNFi) therapy and to analyze the association between disease activity, response to treatment and biomarker levels.
Methods: Patients with active r-axSpA of the German Spondyloarthritis Inception Cohort starting TNFi were compared with controls with chronic back pain. Serum levels of LBP, zonulin and calprotectin were measured at baseline and after 1 year of TNFi therapy.

Introduction And Clinical Importance: Placenta previa (PP) is characterized by abnormal placental placement in the lower uterine segment, obstructing the cervical opening. Placenta previa totalis (PPT) occurs when the placenta completely covers the internal cervical os. This condition can lead to placenta accreta spectrum (PAS), where the placenta adheres abnormally to the uterine wall, complicating separation.

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the relationship between epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) and left atrial function in patients with preserved ejection fraction heart failure (HFpEF).
Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study involving 113 patients diagnosed with HFpEF and 48 control subjects without heart failure. Echocardiography was performed to assess EAT thickness and left atrial function was quantified using Autostrain left atrium (LA), including left atrial strain during reservoir phase (LASr), left atrial strain during conduit phase (LAScd), and left atrial strain during contraction phase (LASct).

Aim: To investigate the correlation between intensive care unit (ICU) nurses' demographic characteristics, teamwork, moral sensitivity and missed nursing care.
Background: Teamwork, moral sensitivity and missed nursing care are important health challenges among ICU nurses. Clarifying the relationship between variables is benefit to improve the quality of patients care.
