January 2025
Gunderson Personality Disorders Institute, McLean Hospital.
Objective: Clients with relational trauma often face challenges in forming a therapeutic alliance, a primary predictor of psychotherapy outcomes. Unresolved traumatic stress can lead to a passive stance in therapy, manifested as a tendency to seek advice and approval from therapists in order to establish more predictable relational dynamics. This comes at the cost of adequately addressing their own therapeutic needs, which often leads to stagnation, treatment dropout, and frustration with the therapist.

Background: Medical management and lifestyle are potentially crucial interventions for Alzheimer's disease (AD). In this study, we present the relationship between adherence of a personalized multi-modal intervention for AD on change in cerebral blood flow (CBF) after 12-months.
Methods: The PREVENTION study is an ongoing randomized clinical trial (McEwen, 2001).
Background: Since lecanemab, an anti-amyloid monoclonal antibody targeting Aβ protofibrils, only modestly impacts cognition (27% slower cognitive decline over 18 months), tracking the effects on the brain in the early months is a clinical challenge. Serial noncontrast MRI scans are required by the FDA, to assess for the occurrence of amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA). Arterial spin-labeling MR (ASL-MR) is a 4-minute non-contrast easily-added sequence.

Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine, Kobe City, Japan.
Background: In Japan, the number of patients with dementia is increasing and there is a shortage of human resources who can conduct detailed psychological examinations, and the development and implementation of new tools is essential for improving dementia care. Japan is one of seven sites across the globe focusing on healthcare system preparedness as part of the Davos Alzheimer's Collaborative Early Detection flagship program. As part of this program, Japan implemented new tools including a digital cognitive assessment (DCA) and blood-based biomarker (BBM) to increase rates of early detection of cognitive impairment.
