Unlabelled: The arm of the study was to examine the influence parathyrin and calcitonin on the development experimental gastric ulcers of rabbits.

Material And Methods: The study involved 87 rabbits. All animals were divided on six groups in dependence on experimental influence (control, trauma celiac plexus, application parathyrin, trauma celiac plexus and introduction parathyrin, application calcitonin, trauma celiac plexus and introduction calcitonin).

Conclusion: Experimental gastric ulcers reproducing of trauma celiac plexus are formed on the background of dysfunction parathyroid glands and C-cell thyroid gland and hypercalcemia. Parathyrin intensifies mechanisms of ulcer's formation, calcitonin prevents from it.

We report a rare case of rupture without bleeding secondary to endotension after thoracic endovascular aneurysm repair. An 82-year-old woman had undergone multiple thoracic endovascular aortic repairs for a distal arch aneurysm. Due to the aneurysm enlargement, stent graft was eventually placed from the ascending aorta to just above the celiac artery after axillo-axillo-common carotid artery bypass.

Background: "Non-compressible" torso hemorrhage (NCTH) is the leading cause of preventable battlefield death, requiring rapid surgical or radiological intervention, which is essentially precluded close to the point of injury. Purpose: Instances of aortic lesions combined with thoracolumbar spine fractures have been rarely described, primarily occurring in high-speed motor vehicle collisions and falls from heights.

Case Report: We present a unique case of a 71-year-old woman with a thoracic aortic rupture caused by a thoracolumbar spine fracture during an accidental domestic fall. She experienced an injury at the level of the celiac trunk on the posterior aspect of the aorta.

Due to their proximity to the left renal hilum, injuries to the superior mesenteric artery and celiac trunk are still reported during left radical nephrectomy, whether performed via open, laparoscopic, or robotic methods. The aim of this 50-year narrative review is to emphasize the anatomical and pathophysiological bases, risk factors, and strategies for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of such injuries.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study investigated the clinical outcomes of transarterial embolization (TAE) for visceral artery pseudoaneurysm (VAPA) over a period from 2012 to 2023, analyzing data from 89 patients at a hospital in France.
  • - Key findings showed that 86.5% of patients experienced clinical success post-procedure, but factors like low hemoglobin levels, the number of red blood cell transfusions, and gastrointestinal bleeding were linked to higher chances of clinical failure.
  • - Although initial results suggested these factors were impactful, multivariate analysis found no statistically significant predictors for clinical success, indicating a need for further research in understanding TAE outcomes for VAPA.
