Background: The effective treatment of post-traumatic vertebral osteonecrosis continues to be an under discussion and controversial subject. Armed kyphoplasty with expansive intravertebral implants is an emerging procedure, which, in theory, allow for a more effective preservation of the restored vertebral height. The development of the indications for these recent devices has given rise to auspicious outcomes in vertebral non-union situations.

Introduction: Toward further cerebro-spinal flow quantification in clinical practice, this study aims at assessing the variations in the cerebro spinal fluid flow pattern associated with change in the morphology of the subarachnoid space of the cervical canal of healthy humans by developing a computational fluid dynamics model.
Methods: 3D T2-space MRI sequence images of the cervical spine were used to segment 11 cervical subarachnoid space. Model validation (time-step, mesh size, size and number of boundary layers, influences of parted inflow and inflow continuous velocity) was performed a 40-year-old patient-specific model.

Background: The continuous occurrence of Kummell's disease is extremely rare in clinical practice, and its treatment is difficult. The study aimed to present a rare case of consecutive Kummell's disease combined with Parkinson's disease (PD) and experienced internal fixation failure.
Case Presentation: A 69-year-old female patient had a history of PD for 10 years, and was treated by posterior decompression, fixation, and fusion because of Kummell's disease of T12 with neurological damage.

Objective: Sodium valproate (VPA), the most effective antiepileptic drug for patients with genetic generalized epilepsy (GGE), is a potent human teratogen that increases the risk of a range of congenital malformations, including spina bifida. The mechanisms underlying this teratogenicity are not known, but may involve genetic risk factors. This study aimed to develop an animal model of VPA-induced birth defects.
