Hybrid Si-LiNbO₃ electro-optic tunable ring resonators have been proposed and demonstrated as a path to achieving ultracompact and high-speed electro-optic devices. Free standing single crystal LiNbO₃ microplatelets (~mm long and ~1 μm thick) were obtained from a z-cut LiNbO₃ substrate by ion implantation and thermal treatment. The platelets were transferred and thermally bonded on top of Si resonators that were fabricated in a Si-on-insulator platform by a 0.18 μm standard complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor process. For the hybrid microring resonator, a free spectral range of 16.5 nm, a finesse F of ~1.67 × 10², a Q-factor of ~1.68 × 10⁴, and an effective r coefficient of ~1.7 pm/V were achieved for the TE mode. These values are in good agreement with the calculated results.

In this article, we report the first case of a 61-year-old woman who was diagnosed with both nodules and cystic lesions in her lungs. The lung nodules were diagnosed as ALK-positive histiocytosis (APH) carrying an gene fusion, which microscopically displayed a mixed morphology of foamy cells, spindle cells, and Touton's giant cells. Immunohistochemistry showed expression of CD163, CD68, and ALK, while fluorescence hybridization (FISH) with second-generation sequencing (NGS) showed the ALK gene fusion with the FLCN gene variant.

When juxtaposed with 2D cell culture models, multicellular tumor spheroids demonstrate a capacity to faithfully replicate certain features inherent to solid tumors. These include spatial architecture, physiological responses, the release of soluble mediators, patterns of gene expression, and mechanisms of drug resistance. The morphological and behavioural similarities between 3D-cultured cells and cells within tumor masses highlight the potential of these models in studying cancer biology and drug responses.

Objective: To explore the effects of hybrid blood purification on nutritional status and cardiovascular events in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD).
Methods: A total of 135 patients with ESRD who received treatment in The Affiliated Nanhua Hospital of Hengyang Medical School from March 2021 to June 2023 were included in this retrospective study. Of them, 66 patients were treated with hemodialysis purification (hemodialysis group), and 69 patients underwent hybrid blood purification (hybrid group).

In this work, we developed potential multifunctional agents to combat Alzheimer's disease. According to our strategy, fragments of tacrine and donepezil were merged in a unique hybrid structure. After successfully synthesizing the compounds, they were evaluated for their dual AChE/BuChE inhibitor potential and neuroprotector response using a glutamate-induced excitotoxicity model.

Multiplex immunofluorescence (MxIF) imaging is a critical tool in biomedical research, offering detailed insights into cell composition and spatial context. As an example, DAPI staining identifies cell nuclei, while CD20 staining helps segment cell membranes in MxIF. However, a persistent challenge in MxIF is saturation artifacts, which hinder single-cell level analysis in areas with over-saturated pixels.
