We have succeeded in detecting metallic transport in a monatomic layer of In on an Si(111) surface, Si(111)-sqrt[7]×sqrt[3]-In surface reconstruction, using the micro-four-point probe method. The In layer exhibited conductivity higher than the minimum metallic conductivity (the Ioffe-Regel criterion) and kept the metallic temperature dependence of resistivity down to 10 K. This is the first example of a monatomic layer, with the exception of graphene, showing metallic transport without carrier localization at cryogenic temperatures. By introducing defects on this surface, a metal-insulator transition occurred due to Anderson localization, showing hopping conduction.
Facilitating rapid charge transfer in electrode materials necessitates the optimization of their ionic transport properties. Lead (Pb) pollution in soil affects growth of plants. Plants' endogenous hormones play an important role in resistance to Pb of plant. In order to explore the hormone-based mechanisms of Pb accumulationin in hyperaccumulator , a pot experiment was conducted to analyze the contents of endogenous hormones (auxin, gibberellin, abscisic acid, and cytokinin) and related genes expressions, and Pb contents of , as well as the transporter (cation exchangers (CAX), heavy metal ATPases (HMA), and ATP-binding cassette (ABC)) concentrations under foliar spraying of indoleacetic acid (IAA).
Objective: To explore the possible mechanism of absorption of iron oxide nanoparticles into the human body through the gastrointestinal tract.

The potential pathogenic role of disturbed Ca2+ homeostasis in Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) remains a complex, unsettled issue. We used muscle fibers isolated from 3-mo-old DMDmdx rats to further investigate the case. Most DMDmdx fibers exhibited no sign of trophic or morphology distinction as compared with WT fibers and mitochondria and t-tubule membrane networks also showed no stringent discrepancy.
