The increasing trend of admissions due to recreational fires prompted a 5-year review. The retrospective chart review of pediatric burn injuries from campfires or bonfires treated at a single medical center's burn unit. The study included children within the ages of 0 to 15 admitted or transferred from January 2012 to December 2016 with first, second, and/or third degree burns by bonfires.

Introduction: In Konya, Turkey, the community celebrates the traditional ceremony of Shivlilik, which occurs on the first day of the seventh month in the lunar-based Hijri calendar. In the evening, people light bonfires of tires in the streets, and children and young people attempt to jump over the flames. Flame burns regularly occur due to falling.

Background: On April 3 and 5 of 2005, approximately 52,000 people gathered in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to celebrate the National Collegiate Athletic Association Final Four victories of the University of North Carolina men's basketball team. As crowds rejoiced and intensified into a celebratory riot, many participants lit dozens of bonfires and expressed themselves by jumping through the flames.
Objective: To describe the interesting injury mechanism of celebratory fire jumping and to describe the injuries associated with two celebratory riots.

Introduction: Campfires, bonfires and barbecues play a prominent role in outdoor activities and serve a variety of decorative and functional purposes. Given all of it's various forms, uses and benefits, the outdoor fire can turn dangerous in a matter of seconds: a stumble or fall (the child running that trips) leads to direct contact with the flames and subsequent burn injury. With it's everyday occurrence, we were surprised to find a paucity of information regarding this type of burn in the literature, including the NBIE analysis.
