Three novel aza-crown ether derivatives incorporating 4-amino-7-nitrobenzaoxa-1,3-diazole (NBD) chromophore were synthesized and their structure confirmed by (1)H-NMR, IR and elemental analysis. The influence of the solvent polarity and protonation on the photophysical properties of NBD-15-crown-5 was studied by UV/Vis and fluorescence methods. The influence of the investigated cations on the absorption spectra of the ligands was negligible, however emission was strongly affected. Complexation and binding stability of NBD-aza-15-crown-5 and NBD-aza-18-crown-6 were studied using fluorescence spectroscopy. NBD-aza-18-crown-6 exhibits strong selectivity toward Ca(2+) and Sr(2+) ions with formation constants about 10(3) times higher than the formation constants with the other ions included in the study.

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a critical angiogenesis biomarker associated with various pathological conditions, including cancer. This study leverages pre-biotinylated FcγRI interactions with IgG1-type monoclonal antibodies to develop a sensitive VEGF detection method. Utilizing surface plasmon resonance (SPR) technology, we characterized the binding dynamics of immobilized biotinylated FcγRI to an IgG1-type antibody, Bevacizumab (AVT), through kinetic studies and investigated suitable conditions for sensor surface regeneration.

This study investigates the development of a novel CO-foamed viscoelastic gel-based fracturing fluid to address the challenges of high-temperature formations. The influence of various parameters, including surfactant type and concentration, gas fraction, shear rate, water salinity, temperature, and pressure, on foam viscosity was systematically explored. Rheological experiments were conducted using a high-pressure/high-temperature (HPHT) rheometer at 150 °C and pressures ranging from 6.

Natural single-chain nanoparticles (SCNPs) such as proteins have inspired research into the formation and application of synthetic SCNPs. Although the latter can mimic general aspects of the self-assembly behavior of their biological counterparts, these systems remain relatively understudied. In this respect, a systematic series of amphiphilic statistical copolymers (ASC) of different molecular weights, with a hydrophilic comonomer (methacrylic acid) and varying hydrophobic comonomer to encompass methacrylates of different hydrophobicity, are synthesized.

The high abundance of acetone ((CH)C═O), which makes it a good candidate for oxygenated molecules, and the high reactivity of oxygen atoms in the first excited state O(D) are two well-known facts in the chemistry of the atmosphere. In this research, we prove that the singlet oxygen and acetone system is capable of proceeding through multiwell multipath reactions, leading to the production of several organic aerosols. Hence, the nature of species released by the (CH)C═O + O(D) reaction to air can be clarified by profound attention to the possible routes.
