In this study, we present a method designed to generate dynamic holograms in holographic optical tweezers. The approach combines our random mask encoding method with iterative high-efficiency algorithms. This hybrid method can be used to dynamically modify precalculated holograms, giving them new functionalities-temporarily or permanently-with a low computational cost. This allows the easy addition or removal of a single trap or the independent control of groups of traps for manipulating a variety of rigid structures in real time.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, masks were widely promoted and mandated as a key measure to help reduce the transmission of SARS-CoV-2. These policies were primarily informed by laboratory evidence demonstrating the effectiveness of particle filtration, alongside observational studies. While several meta-analyses have indicated that masks may contribute to reducing viral transmission, many of these analyses rely heavily on observational data.

Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of ultrasound-guided rectus sheath block (RSB) in laparoscopic umbilical hernia repair with intraperitoneal onlay mesh (IPOM).
Methods: A total of 139 patients scheduled for laparoscopic umbilical hernia repair with IPOM were selected and randomly assigned to either the group receiving general anesthesia combined with bilateral rectus sheath block (Group GR, 71 patients) or the group receiving general anesthesia alone (Group G, 68 patients). We monitored the patients' heart rate (HR) and mean arterial pressure (MAP) at four time points: before anesthesia induction (T1), at the start of surgery (T2), during mesh fixation (T3), and upon removal of the laryngeal mask (T4).

Background: Intravenous anesthesia with high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) has been reported to benefit oxygen reserves and enhance postoperative recovery in surgeries requiring low neuromuscular blockade. This study investigated whether HFNC improves recovery quality in elderly undergoing ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy (UHLL).
Methods: We enrolled 106 elderly patients undergoing UHLL, with 96 patients (48 per group) included in the final analysis.
