Introduction: The psychosocial consequences of psychosis in the youth are educational negligence's, poor peer relations and difficulties in achieving life independency. MORS--the Stationary Model Centre of Sociopsychiatric Rehabilitation was created for overcoming these problems.

Aim: To present the programme of rehabilitation and its effects in MORS.

Method: The evaluation was performed in 18 of the 26 young persons being admitted to MORS in the years 2006-2008. Structured Questionnaires of past history for the staff and clients, the SOC-29 and KIDscreen -52 scales were used.

Results: A significant number of young people from incomplete families, and/or families burdened with parental mental health problems was noticeable. The best effects were achieved in compensating for educational negligence's, and improving the social and life skills. The self estimation of health and life satisfaction was lower in the youth clients on discharge from MORS than in the general population.

Conclusions: According to retrospective evaluation, the stationary programme of psychosocial rehabilitation in MORS seems to be effective in youths with psychotic disorders and difficulties in social functioning. Further development, and prospective evaluation of that programme would be valuable. Social support in local communities for the youth being discharged from MORS is needed.

A comprehensive analysis of everyday sound perception can be achieved using Electroencephalography (EEG) with the concurrent acquisition of information about the environment. While extensive research has been dedicated to speech perception, the complexities of auditory perception within everyday environments, specifically the types of information and the key features to extract, remain less explored. Our study aims to systematically investigate the relevance of different feature categories: discrete sound-identity markers, general cognitive state information, and acoustic representations, including discrete sound onset, the envelope, and mel-spectrogram.

Addressing the global challenge of ensuring access to safe drinking water, especially in developing countries, demands cost-effective, eco-friendly, and readily available technologies. The persistence, toxicity, and bioaccumulation potential of organic pollutants arising from various human activities pose substantial hurdles. While high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry (HPLC-HRMS) is a widely utilized technique for identifying pollutants in water, the multitude of structures for a single elemental composition complicates structural identification.

Aging in a weighted ensemble of excitable and self-oscillatory neurons: The role of pairwise and higher-order interactions.

Chaos

January 2025

International Research Center for Neurointelligence, The University of Tokyo Institutes for Advanced Study, The University of Tokyo, Bunkyo Ku, Tokyo 113 8654, Japan.

We investigate the aging transition in networks of excitable and self-oscillatory units as the fraction of inherently excitable units increases. Two network topologies are considered: a scale-free network with weighted pairwise interactions and a two-dimensional simplicial complex with weighted scale-free pairwise and triadic interactions. Without triadic interactions, the aging transition from collective oscillations to oscillation death (inhomogeneous stationary states) can occur either suddenly or through an intermediate state of partial oscillation.

Description of changes in chemical bonding along the pathways of chemical reactions by deformation of the molecular electrostatic potential.

J Mol Model

January 2025

Department of Theoretical Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry, Jagiellonian University, Gronostajowa 2, 30-387, Krakow, Poland.

Context: The analysis of the changes in the electronic structure along intrinsic reaction coordinate (IRC) paths for model reactions: (i) ethylene + butadiene cycloaddition, (ii) prototype SN2 reaction Cl + CH3Cl, (iii) HCN/CNH isomerization assisted by water, (iv) CO + HF → C(O)HF was performed, in terms of changes in the deformation density (Δr) and the deformation of MEP (ΔMEP). The main goal was to further examine the utility of the ΔMEP as a descriptor of chemical bonding, and to compare the pictures resulting from Δr and ΔMEP. Both approaches clearly show that the main changes in the electronic structure occur in the TS region.

In coal mining operations, the stable operation of hydraulic supports is crucial for ensuring mine safety. However, the nonlinear, non-stationary characteristics and noise interference in hydraulic support pressure data pose significant challenges for anomaly detection and fault diagnosis. This study proposes an anomaly detection and failure identification method based on Gated Recurrent Unit Autoencoder (GRU-AE), aimed at achieving anomaly detection in hydraulic support pressure data and equipment failure early warning.
